Big favorites feature prominently on Monday’s eight-game slate. Check out our NBA best bets for Monday based on the top NBA odds.

The Oklahoma City Thunder look to stay hot at home against the visiting Golden State Warriors who have struggled mightily on the road this season. The shorthanded Los Angeles Lakers face the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center and face nearly a double-digit spread. Can the Washington Wizards win and cover in a sixth straight contest when they face the San Antonio Spurs, and can the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings hit the Over on a large point total?

Here are our NBA best bets for Monday (odds via BetMGM, DraftKings Sportsbook, and FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NBA top picks

Spread: Thunder +5 (-105 via DraftKings) vs. Warriors ⭐⭐⭐

You know the drill at this point. It’s been quite a profitable venture betting on the Thunder to cover the spread this season, so we’re going back to the well. Oklahoma City’s 31-17-1 ATS record is the best in the NBA, and the 16-9 record at home is fourth best. The Thunder are also one of 10 teams with a record above .500 as the home underdog.

Golden State has been incredibly bad ATS on the road thus far, going 2-8 as the road favorite and an NBA-worst 7-16 as the road team overall. The Warriors are 5-18 straight up outside of Chase Center and just 3-7 as the road favorite. This line opened at Thunder +3.5, and we would have been comfortable betting it there. It’s risen to as much as +5 or +5.5 depending on the book, so there is plenty of value to be had.

Spread: Brooklyn -9.5 (-105 via BetMGM) vs. Lakers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

No LeBron James? No Anthony Davis? That’ll be a problem. The Lakers are just 11-13-1 on the road and 9-13-1 as the road dog on the season, but without James and Davis, Los Angeles will have an incredibly difficult time covering, even with such a large spread.

The Nets are just 8-9-1 as the home favorite, but the team has covered in four of its last five games and has been playing quite well. Kyrie Irving has been playing out of his mind as of late, and big man Nic Claxton has been a force in the paint. The Lakers are 0-5 in games in which they are nine-point underdogs or higher. The team has lost all five road games it’s played without James, dropping them by an average of 17 points.

Spread: Wizards -6 (-110 via FanDuel) vs. Spurs ⭐⭐⭐⭐

San Antonio has been surprisingly effective ATS at home this season, sporting a 14-11 record, including a 12-10 record as the home underdog. The Spurs have gone 11-5 against Eastern Conference opponents, but the team has failed to cover in any of its last four contests.

Washington, meanwhile, has won five straight and covered in all of them. Those five wins and covers include four road games. The Wizards have a healthy 3-1 ATS record as the road favorite, a 14-11-2 record on the road and a 12-9 mark against Western Conference opponents. Kristaps Porzingis will be back in action after three straight absences, and Washington’s injury report is the cleanest it’s been in weeks. We’re backing the Wizards to cover on the road.

Total: Kings-Timberwolves Under 237.5 (-105 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐

This is a large point total, and while no one likes an Under, that’s where our money is going. The Kings and Wolves met Saturday and combined for just 227 points, hitting the Under on the 238.5 total. The total for the rematch has come down just one point, so we’ll take advantage of that.

In seven games with a 237 point total or higher, the Wolves are 1-6, and in 25 such games for the Kings, the team is 9-15-1. The Kings have gone Under in three straight and five of the last six, while Minnesota has also hit the Under in three straight and two of the last six. Minnesota is 12-16 at home, and Sacramento is 6-15 on the road.
