The Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls meet for the third time this season after splitting the first two matchups. Here are our Hawks vs. Bulls NBA picks based on the best NBA odds.

The Hawks enter this game coming off a loss on Saturday to the Charlotte Hornets, however, they are 5-1 in their last six games, with wins over the Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks. In their last five victories, they have outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 points per game.

After a three-game losing streak dropped them five games below .500, the Bulls have won back-to-back contests, scoring an average of 129 points per game. Zach LaVine has scored at least 25 points in seven consecutive games, while Nikola Vucevic has pulled down 10 or more rebounds in 10 consecutive contests.

When it comes to the spread, there has been almost no line movement. The Bulls are currently favored by 1 point at every major sportsbook except BetMGM and FanDuel where they are favored by 1.5. At the time of this writing, 74% of bettors are backing the Bulls to cover the spread in this one, so it is likely that this line grows to a full bucket before tipoff.

The total opened at 237.5, and it has gone up as high as 239. Right now, the lowest totals can be found at BetMGM and FanDuel where the number is sitting at 238.5. Despite the number rising, 54% of bettors are backing the Under in this one.

While bettors seem very confident in the Bulls to cover in this game, this feels like a toss-up. These two teams have been wildly inconsistent all season long, and while the Bulls have been great in their last two games, the Hawks are actually the hotter team over the last two weeks. 

Additionally, this should be a high-scoring game with both teams averaging 114.8 points per game and allowing at least 115 per game. Yet that doesn’t account for all those extra points that would send this over 238.5. But is it wise to bet against either of these offenses right now? The Hawks haven’t scored fewer than 118 in four games, and the Bulls have found their rhythm at home in their last two.

Therefore, we’re going to suggest a player prop for a player that has been cashing consistently in 2023. Lavine has scored at least 25 points in all but one of his nine games this calendar year. While DeMar DeRozan is still the leading scorer on the team, LaVine has been the more consistent option for the Bulls.

When the Bulls score in the 120s or higher, LaVine scores 25 or more. When the Bulls score fewer than 100, LaVine scores 25 or more. Anywhere in between, it’s the same story. He has not topped 25 this season against the Hawks, which is likely why this number isn’t at 27.5 or 28.5. But until LaVine shows signs of cooling off, there is no reason not to take him against a team allowing opponents to shoot 47.5% from the field this season.

There is some disagreement between the major sportsbooks, as LaVine’s line is set at either 26.5 or 25.5. While 25.5 may seem like the better option, the price is -120 compared to a price of -110 at DraftKings and BetMGM for Over 26.5. With how LaVine has been playing, we recommend taking the extra point at a better price. However, if you are okay with paying the extra juice, then PointsBet or FanDuel are sound options.

The only book that is out of the question at the moment is Caesars where his Over 26.5 is listed at -117. This line does signal that this number could start going up before long. So, get in sooner than later on this one.
