Blues vs. Jets Odds, Picks, Predictions: Look to Dubois for Anytime Goal

Two teams on losing streaks meet Monday in the only game on the NHL schedule when the St. Louis Blues face the Winnipeg Jets. Read on for our best Blues vs. Jets pick based on top odds.

Although the Winnipeg Jets sit in second place in the Central Division, with 63 points in 51 games, they have also lost three straight games. The Jets lost 4-0 at home against Philadelphia on Saturday, the second time this season that they have been shut out.

The Blues are in a much more precarious position. Four straight losses leaves them with 49 points in 50 games and it sure looks like they will be sellers ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline.

There is still plenty of incentive for the Jets to get back on track and challenge the Dallas Stars for first place in the Central Division. On the other side, the Blues are now eight points out of a playoff spot and are longshots (+1300 at DraftKings Sportsbook) to even make the playoffs.

The FanDuel moneyline opened with the Jets as significant favorites at -210, compared to the Blues at +172. Even though a whopping 82% of the early consensus moneyline wagers have been on the Jets, there has been only a little line movement.

A Jets win is now priced at -220 with the Blues at +180.

The total has remained steady at 6. The opening price was -114 for the Over and -106 for the Under. Despite 61% of the early consensus action coming in on the Over, the price for the total to go Under 6 is now -115, while the Over is -105 at FanDuel.

Pierre-Luc Dubois anytime goal vs. Blues (+160) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This has been a breakout season for Dubois, the 24-year-old Jets center. He has 22 goals and 52 points in 51 games and has produced at least one goal in 12 of 25 home games.

Dubois has seen his ice time steadily increase throughout the season, to nearly 19 minutes per game in January, and he gets first unit power play time in addition to skating on a line with dangerous playmaking winger Kyle Connor and skilled rookie Cole Perfetti.

Dubois goes against a Blues squad that ranks 26th in shots against per 60 minutes on the road and 28th in goals against per 60 minutes on the road.

St. Louis’ expected starter in net, Jordan Binnington, has a .892 save percentage away from the Enterprise Center, which ranks 58th among 68 goaltenders that have played least 500 minutes on the road.

Binnington has allowed at least four goals against in eight of his past 14 starts, and if the Jets start filling the net, Dubois is likely to be one of the goal scorers.

Caesars (+160) 

While most of the top-rated sportsbooks have settled with a Dubois anytime goal at +145, there is better value to be found at FanDuel (+154) and, as usual, at Caesars (+160).

My price for a Dubois anytime goal is closer to +125, even accounting for some regression in his shooting percentage on home ice, so there is value to be had in grabbing him at +160.

The price at Caesars is substantially better than the rest, so that is my first choice among the top-rated sportsbooks to make this wager.
