The Carolina Hurricanes look to extend their five-game winning streak when they host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. Read on for our best Kings vs. Hurricanes pick based on top odds.

Carolina has turned elite puck possession into wins – and plenty of them.

The Hurricanes, who lead the NHL in Corsi For, have won five straight games and are 7-0-1 in their past eight contests.

Despite missing shutdown defenseman Jaccob Slavin, who has been out of the lineup for four straight games, the ‘Canes continue to march to the top of the Metropolitan Division with 72 points in 49 games.

The Kings, meanwhile, have climbed up the Pacific Division standings and while they are in third place right now, they sit just one point behind the first place Seattle Kraken.

Since calling up goaltender Pheonix Copley from the AHL, the Kings are 15-8-2, with Copley posting a sensational 15-3 record.

The FanDuel moneyline opened with the Hurricanes as heavy favorites at -205, compared to the Kings at +168. Even though 79% of the early consensus moneyline wagers have been on the Hurricanes, the line, just like the song, remains the same.

The total has remained steady at 6. The opening price was -115 for the Under and -105 for the Over. With 59% of the early consensus action coming in on the Over, the price for the total is now -110 for both the Over and the Under.

Hurricanes regulation win vs. Kings (-125 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐

Carolina has stormed its way to the second best record in the league (32-9-8) – and it has earned those Ws.

The Hurricanes are the only team in the league controlling more than 60% of score-and-venue-adjusted shot attempts and expected goals during five-on-five play. And for a little extra context, the second-best team in both categories is more than five percent behind.

Starting goaltender Frederik Andersen missed more than two months with a lower-body injury but has been terrific, since returning to action, boasting a .934 save percentage and 1.88 goals against average in six games.

While the Kings have been getting wins with Copley between the pipes, his numbers are relatively mediocre. Among the 46 goalies to play at least 1000 minutes, Copley’s .901 save percentage ranks 29th.

The Kings may be a quality team, though they are also the only team currently in a playoff spot with a negative goal differential. That is enough reason to like the puck-controlling Hurricanes to pull this one out in regulation on home ice.

By moving to a regulation time win, the price for the Hurricanes becomes more palatable – but there's variance in that market, too. DraftKings and BetMGM have the best price at -125, which is significantly better than the -145 that Caesars is offering for a 60-minute win.

There might be some appeal to the Hurricanes on the puck line for plus money, but Carolina has just eight multi-goal wins in 23 home games. It is more of a stretch to expect them to win by more than one goal, so I’m taking Carolina to get the job done in 60 minutes.
