BCS Bowl line hovering at 3.5SBRlines.com showed LSU favored by as much as 6 with some books in December. The line dropped slowly as the public backed Ohio State taking the points. Bookmakers have settled in at 3.5 almost across the board.
pinnacle Sports is offering the best price for LSU at -101 followed by 5Dimes at -103. Ohio State backers can get a +4 with WSEX at -115, essentially getting the half point for a good buy of 5 cents.

pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+) adds Rally Racing rules and adds rules regarding player retirement or disqualification in Tennis.

Jazz and ABCislands downgraded from B+ to B yesterday due to listing unavailable transfer options. Two non-US players have complained that they would not have deposited if they had known that book-to-book transfers with pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+) and Bookmaker (SBR rating A+), as well as Neteller transfers were not available as advertised. Some players have taken a check paying the additional fees while having to accept the smaller transfer limits. Jazz plans to make both of these options available by the end of next week and will be reevaluated at that time.

The 1128.com player wagered on a soccer total that he claims was in line with the market price. After the event had concluded and the wager had won Bet1128 canceled the bet, failing to adhere to its listed rule regarding faulty betting lines. SBR will contact 1128 on player's behalf
Bet1128 Rule 17: If during transcription, typing or printing a quoted odds is visibly incorrect (e.g. 1.50/2.50) the company reserves the right to reinstate the original odds even after the result is known. In such cases comparison with other bookmakers currently on the market will, in good faith, give evidence of the error.

More sportsbooks considering reduced juice pricing In an effort to obtain market share formerly held by
pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+), many sportsbooks will target players with new offers of reduced vigorish and low juice promotions. Multiple bookmakers have told SBR they are considering moving to "discount wagering" full-time after the announcement from
pinnacle to leave the US market.
5Dimes (SBR rating A) told SBR today that they have decided to offer -105 style lines (10 cent pricing) on all NHL hockey games.
5Dimes already offered -105 lines on the NFL playoffs. Sportsbooks must be extremely skilled and experienced in order to manage low margin wagering. SBR advises players to stay with the best and most proven sportsbooks.

Bet365 (SBR rating A+) players complain of inadequate rule change notification. SBR has received three complaints from users who say they were unaware of recent rule changes that were the difference between winning and losing wagers.
Bet365 changed their wagering rules, making overtime in all basketball leagues count for over-under wagers. Most
Bet365 users are likely finding out about rule change when their bet on a game that went into overtime is graded.
Beginning January 1st, 2007, all sportsbooks on
SBR’s
Recommended List will be required to offer a ’policy updates’ log or another method of alerting players of policy changes.

SBR Costa Rica: Cigar speaks with SBR on CRIS (SBR rating A+) For those that might of thought that CRIS is complacent with simply being in every ones top 5, think again. "Our goal is to be number one". Much of the credit is given to Mickey who has risen through the ranks and took advantage of his opportunity to lead CRIS into the postup business. The addition of Gary has made this one of the best teams in the industry. CRIS has steadily climbed the SBR Recommended List from 6th last year to 2nd behind only
pinnacle. These two powerhouses will likely be a two-horse race for the foreseeable future.

BetWWTS (SBR rating A+) "I transfereed money from the sportsbook to the casino. After the transfer the money was in neither account. They did take care of it but it was a hassle."
BetOnGames (SBR rating A-) "Have you noticed the web site is down more since VIP bought them? BetOnGames is (or was) the best book out there but not if they can’t keep it up on the internet."

Some newer sportsbooks upgraded after end of the year reviews. Mansion now holds a respectable C+ SBR rating and is by far the most interesting new sportsbook of the class of 2004. We continue to remain somewhat cautious on Mansion despite the high level of financing from a millionaire cigarette tycoon from Asia and a capable management staff. Mansion has taken aim at the two toughest competitors in the industry in
pinnacle (SBR rating A+) and
BetFair (SBR rating A+). History is not on the side of books that take on those two goliaths, however Mansion could be the exception.

SBR surveys three top sportsbooks on how they did with the 2004 baseball season: pinnacle(SBR rating A+): Baseball was good this year. There was one stretch just after the all-star break that I think the players were using tomorrows paper to pick the games....players were feasting on under valued favorites. Overall, this has been an excellent baseball season, probably the best ever, for pinnacle.
VIP (SBR rating A+): This year broke character with the last four years. In the previous few years, players won early and won big. This year the book had a good start but the players roared back with a vengeance in the final 1/3 of the season. VIP added 1st inning and first 5 inning props as well as others and overall I think this was a decent year for us in baseball, certainly not great.
BetJamaica(SBR rating A+): Baseball was definitely better this year than last; we got off to a very strong start, an amazing start. The players got it together in late August and have been winning most of the big decisions ever since. So for BetJamaica this has been a terrific baseball season. We handled the professional crowd but the general public hit a lot of big games down the stretch.

The two hottest new gaming software launches delayed again. BetWWTS (SBR rating A+) which was to launch a version of Victor Chandler's sports betting platform has informed SBR that the launch scheduled for July 12th, is "Delayed indefinitely". There are at least three sportsbooks that heavily invested in this platform including Bowmans (SBR rating A-).
pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+) much anticipated casino again is delayed. Apparently the casino is live in-house and for a few invited guests. One source from a casino review site who said he had played one session and was sworn to secrecy said "..its ready but I guess they have their reasons(for not going live). Forget about it, it doesn't get any better..."

Heritage Downgraded - removed from the Full Recommended List - Sharp players upset their limits were lowered have created a significant exodus/ run on the bank - Insiders and credit agents
among those heading for the exits. There have been zero slow pay complaints - book may actually reemerge stronger after it completes the purge of its professional player base - Heritage GM who has a history of personal problems was one of the founders of
pinnacle and a very respected bookmaker for over 20 years.
