Is It a 4.5 Inning wager or a 5 Inning wager?
I'm referring to the placement of a wager for the first half of a game. Now I would have thought that each team would get 5 at-bats when making such a wager.
However at Bet365 that particular wager is posted as '4 1/2 innings', so I contacted them and it was confirmed that the visiting team does get 5 at-bats and the home team only gets 4 at-bats upon making this wager.
Has anyone any knowledge of this sort of wager and if so, does this sound right?
Obviously the visiting side has a distinct advantage and I confronted the gentleman regarding this point at Bet365 and he verified that it is the proper explanation for this particular bet.
So in effect if the visiting team is leading 5-4 after 4 1/2 innings, the wager is final and complete one way or the other. The bottom half of the inning is excluded, meaning the home team does not get to bat.

If your selected team is leading after 4', your action is graded as a win. Think of this type of wager as a first half basketball or football wager. Some books say 5 full innings. So one needs to read the rules carefully and if in doubt CONTACT THEM PRIOR TO WAGERING. I made a 5 inning wager yesterday on LAA and with his return didn't think he'd go past 7, so thought it was a logical approach. It cashed and they won the game too.

So Today'sAction can this be a fact that the visiting side does have the extra bat and an extra chance to put runs on the board upon playing this wager?
I mean that is the verification I received from Bet365 but do you also agree that there's a distinct advantage for the visitors in that the home team doesn't get an opportunity to tie the game if trailing by a run after 4 1/2 innings of baseball. Wouldn't this also entice most to play the visiting side if playing this particular wager as well?
      Thanks.

Yes, the visiting team has one more at bat. Correct.

Yes. Not all. Starters in today's world can go strong five plus innings normally, and as such the scoring is kept down (in general). Upon hitting that 100 mark, the game is turned over to the relief staff and that's where the game takes a new level.

Think of the 4' as the visitor's friend. Taking the visitor in a situation when they get one more at bat and "the better team" can be an advantage (for them). The down side is books/puts know that as well and will tack on a little so it'll cost you a little more. Think of the five full innings being for the home team or levels above their opponent and will only need four at bats to be leading half way through the game. There are advantages and disadvantages for both.
