What I always find baffling is when I look up certain teams, and look for players with decent career avg or success vs a starting pitcher - but sometimes most of the starting lineups, especially the top of the lineup, it will have zero career stats vs the opposing starting pitcher. And yet, the pitcher isn't a rookie, nor are the batters.
example is Yankees today, DJ , Judge, Rizzo, Stanton, Josh, all have zero stats vs Urquidy, and he's been in the league a while.
RedSox, the same, Duran, Devers, JD, Bogarts, Verdugo, all have zero stats listed against Civale, and he's been around for a while.
I notice this quite often when going through the lineups on the MLB app.
And i get burned trying to use the data looking for teams with a lot of batters having horrible career stats vs the starting pitcher.
San Fran last night, so many of their starting batters had horrible career stats vs Reds Pitcher, so I took a chance on team total for SF to go under, and those same batters that had stats like 1 for 9, 2 for 15, 0 for 7, etc. lifetime career vs Minor, they lit him up last night.. SMH, lol, FML
