Just watched the myriad of blown saves last night on MLB.tv and it appears that most of the evening events had this happen! Egads!
I looked at a trusted fantasy friend's reliever board (yes there are guys who utilize this sort of thing) and with the exception of Pale Hose, Rox and Cubs (which are shaky) and the committee approach of the Brewers, Blunts and Sailors every teams bullpen on paper is steady. I personally sat out the Wanderers game 2 win vs the Athletics because they didn't win the first game of the double dip! Abd darnnit! The Orioles Kimbrel blew the save opportunity and then their relievers blew more save opportunities in extra innings! They ended up winning but not by the golden 2 runs.

Ok so some changes were made to the big board. Sonny Gray will get the start today and of course I am going to have him rostered highly (pushed him to #4) and make a move on him with the RL and get rid of the Cardinals/Brews FF OVER idea. The Cardinals bats are horrid so I handled my money in such a way as if I wanted to lose it and took them on the RL to avoid having to give up some crumbs should they lose-which is a high possibility. May as well get paid if they decide to hit the ball today. Fantasy wise I suggest you push Sonny up too. Even if they lose in this platform you can win in your league with him on the bump. He's made me a happy man with his K's and ERA. Again-tread lightly with the Cardinals-they aren't worth a huge investment. 1 unit should suffice

In other news I also tied up some Astronauts+117 with Blanco. No one in their right mind would take that bet except for the bookies.
Based upon what I am seeing those with little to no knowledge of pitchers strengths and weaknesses are blasting away on the Bombers because it's Wednesday. Stroman's arsenal is tailor made for the Astronauts and the team total is disrespectful at 4 +100 for the over. You know what to do

Wow! A whopping 90% of the money is on the Bombers! Yikes! Stroman hasn't had a major secondary pitch work for him over his last two starts and I expect for it to return-just not today. The .196 average against him by the Astronauts is only for 51 at bats-not a good sample size when you factor in that Altuve and Bregman make up 29 of those 51 at batsComment -

For tomorrow I have a yen for Griffin Canning#14 and Alec Marsh#19 to go OVER. One guy has a record of 3-0 with an ERA of 2.70 and the other has 1-4 with an ERA of 6.69. The Royals hit .333 of of Canning and with 24 at bats he has 7 K's; 2 free passes and surrendered 8 hits and 3 dingers. Marsh is coming off of the IL after a 15 day stint. He has never faced the Halos either.

Hunter Greene didn't have his best stuff today-throwing on average 94 MPH, which is way lower than the 98 he usually throws. He didn't give me my 6 frames so I am taking a sizeable loss fantasy wise even if the Red Leggins do win this game in this platform. 5 walks won't get it doneComment -

I am also high on Ranger Suarez (Blunts) and again the juice is higher than I am willing to go. I have him ranked at #7. Ok now let's get the rest of my leader board. Damn..the Snakes have Cole Irvin's number. I just got a tip from a fellow league member who is pressing the button on the Snakes bats today because they are hitting .353 in 34 at bats against Irvin with 4 dingers and 12 ribs, .824 slugging % and get this, a 1.176 OPS. Yikes-I am following suit and getting me some too!

As the day goes along I am starting to favor the Halos Griffin Canning who has totally overhauled his repertoire and is now impressing me by his lack of 4 seamer mistakes lately-and his secondaries have been delicately spotted across his last two outings. As stated Alec Marsh is fresh off the IL and may be a little off his game which is why i have him ranked #19 to Canning's #14. Any time that I see a higher ranked pitcher as an underdog it is an auto play-grudgingly I am going to not fight the forces of nature and go with the flow in an attempt to handle my money in such a way as to seemingly be trying to lose it. At the time of me writing this 98% of the money is on the Royals which means that there are plenty of bettors out there trying to pick up an easy chicken dinner, with the books lined up too taking all of the action for the Royals. I say if the books are willing to take bets for the Royals and win a heap of money should they lose then so can I

Thank you Yordan Alvarez! I made so much off of that home run and double yesterday. Arraez is doing his thing, Colton Cowser is doing his thing and life is good in my batting fantasy league roster. Now if Matt Olson hits a dinger today I will be cashing out in that league for the week before I give it all back to the man! I wanted Gunnar Henderson too but someone claimed him.
On the pitching front I have goosebumps about Skenes. If he goes over 8 or so K's in his first start there will be an explosion big enough to split Yosemite in half!Comment -

Alright I was very pleased with Paul Skenes debut giving me 7 K's in his first start-then the reliever came into the game and threw 16 straight balls to crush my FF under LOL! Suarez threw gem and most importantly I got the golden dinger from Matt Olson which exploded my fantasy battery row. in this format I may be having some troubled waters-not so in fantasy. Like I can take losses in this format and then clean up when my studs go 6 frames nd give me 3-1 ratio on on K's to walks and so on. The relievers in this format are money burners!
