    Goodbye Fairlay; Hello Bitcon Betting
They're transitioning to a more decentralized structure.

Still at invite only stage, but if you send them a DM via Twitter (@_bitcoinbetting) I'd be surprised if they wouldn't let you test run it to share your feedback.

Hopefully they will fix that god awful interface, and narrow their focus to sports bettors. They say they're UI will be easier for "less advanced users" to navigate.

Does require some crypto sophistication as you can see in their GITHUB project description.

A decentralized betting exchange active enough to create liquid markets on major sports is still the killer app of our space. Many have tried; many have failed. Maybe in this new crypto environment (Coinbase and friends were newly on the list of most downloaded apps last week), someone will finally get it right. Godspeed on this venture Bitcoin Betting.

What's the deal? Are we not even allowed to mention low juice sites anymore?

I'm happy to see them too. We've been asking for DeFi Pinny for a while now. They ask how you found them at sign up. You can put down any sports forum so you don't need a real invite. They really should just open it up to all since it's anonymous and no one is going to get banned. A VPN is still needed for some jurisdictions.

No collection of private user data like email, name or passport will ever be required. Your entire identity is managed by your crypto currency wallet like MetaMask, WalletConnect or similar.
edit - I just read this although I was told they let in all forums.
The platform will only be available via invite to keep scammers, match fixers, money launderers and other bad actors out

Raiders how literally do you mean a DeFi Pinny?

Fairlay obviously had people who were willing to buy some inventory from Pinny and put it up, as well as the few guys they had who would take a position once in a while. But they're not really plugged into Pinny, right? I assume it's still customers versus customers, with someone willing to make discount juice available by still buying from Pinny just to get the network going.

But I bow to your superior knowledge on this if you think they've figured out a way to let people bet anonymously into Pinnacle.

There really aren't any changes in the market makers going from Fairlay to Bitcoin Betting. They just cleaned it up to make it user friendly for those not as familiar with exchanges. It was much needed.

The reason I said Pinny DeFi is that they use Pinnacle lines and are now a DAO.

Well what had me asking the question is that I thought you suggested they also had Pinny limits even in their current non-exchange stage of development. That was certainly never remotely true at Fairlay.

I heard that Bitcoin Betting limits are as high or higher than Pinny. Post if you find out differently.

Plz post about experiences at the new site.

How hard is it to fund the new site? I didn't like the MetaMask format. I'd consider it if I thought the interface was user-friendly.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Best sportsbook out there. DeFi gambling will take over as soon as people get use to wallets such as Metamask. That's their problem right now. People don't want to transfer ETH to Metamask and then connect to Bitcoin-Betting. Limits are high, you can click on max bet to see. bookie posted $27,000 NFL pregame and it was $19,000 live on Monday.

Thanks, Raiders. You're exactly right. If I understood the wallet better, I'd fund there.

It'll take some time for people to catch on. The Phantom APP is downloaded more than the Coinbase APP. Wallets such as Metamask and Phantom are becoming more and more popular.

For a betting exchange, any extra impediment to novice bettors being able to access it is a big big problem imho.

These Fairlay guys are so smart and clever technically, but are like morons with human nature or designing ANYTHING.

Good post, Opti. Yes, I think it's too complicated.

Hate the rule where they basically freeze a good chunk of your betting roll (especially if you only deposit enough for 4-5 bets like I often do).

They say it's to protect the book from players abusing misgraded matches. But immediately offer you to pay 'an insurance' if you want to never have this amount locked up and put 'on hold'.

I'm also not sure if odds are all that good. Are these actually Pinnacle odds?

They are Pinny lines. Click on alts. One or the other may show an alt line on home screen.

Would be good to know the gas charges per transaction too.
