Fedor and UFC Finalizing Deal / UFC to take on 20 Affliction contracts
I will jizz in my pants if this turns out to be true. Kevin Iole also said he trusts the writer....*FINGERS CROSSED*

This article was originally on a blog post platform and may be missing photos, graphics or links.

Here's the other article about UFC absorbing 20 Affliction contracts. I dunno about 20 with Babalu,Moussasi and Hieron on there way to Strikeforce. But I'll take Fedor, Belfort, Lil Nog and Hordecki PLEASE!!!!

Fedor has a Press Conference tomorrow and Dana has one on Friday so let's hope a lot of this shit pans out! Plus with rumours of Tito returning and UFC 103 main event changes (Tito vs Franklin and Hendo vs Belfort) this could be an EPIC week for the UFC....hope we are all not dissappointed

Now the only question is do they give him a title shot right away or do they build towrds a mega fight with Brock. No doubt Fedor deserves a shot right way, but IMO they should give him some fights before Lesnar. two fighters that come to mind right away are Mir and Couture the two guys lesnar has already beat. First Mir he's as famous now as he ever will be and it will be good to let Fedor take him out before guys like Valasquez or Kongo decrease his value. Then a fight vs Couture would be logical before Lesnar

Well i listened to Dana do a radio interview on the weekend with ESPN and he said IF they were able to sign Fedor he would get an immediate title shot vs Lesnar. I know it was part of Randy's negotiation to return to the UFC that if they signed Fedor he would get first dibs so i dunno how this would work. The other sub-plot is when his first fight would be. From what I've read the UFC wants to counter the upcoming Mayweather fight on Sept 19 with a new main event (not Henderson vs Franklin as first reported). The other date is to counter Pacquiao-Cotto in November. Dana is going for boxing's balls with this if he can make it happen.

yea i read that Dana said he'd get a shot right away. I think its a mistake because as much as MMA fans know Fedor the casual fans need a few UFC fights to see him perform if they want to maximize on a Fedor Lesnar fight, (over 1.5 million PPV buys!!!!)

Totally agree, especially so early if in Sept. U figure they will want to promote this fight hard to get the common MMA fan to figure out who Fedor is. Plus I think ppl underestimate the difficulty some fighters have in making the transition from a ring to a cage. I know he is Fedor and all, but it would still be beneficial for him to get a fight in a cage before he tanks on Lesnar. I think Randy is the perfect guy for Fedor to fight first. Huge name recognition, will draw a massive PPV audience and like you said he has already fought and lost to Lesnar.

I agree with the logic that Fedor should fight Randy first. But with Randy fighting at 102 how could you have Fedor wait an additional 3 months for Randy to be able to fight again. They need to give him a fight quickly after signing him. Nogueria can't, Mir has Kongo next, CroCop has Dos Santos, Carwin has Velasquez, and they don't have much else for heavyweights. The only thing I can come up with that isn't Lesnar, is Herring.

not sure if Mir and Kongo is set in stone yet. Thats why i think Mir is perfect, little threat to fedor and he dosn't lose much credibility losing to Fedor, and well know to many after his Lesnar fight at 100. But i think Mir value will go down in the future cause i put him behnd many of the middle row fighters like Carwin, Valasquez, Kongo, Gonzaga, Dos Santos etc

Good news about picking up 20 fighters...but I wonder if they will cut 20 UFC fighters to make room, or if this means a few more events a year?? That would be just fine with me (more events).

Ben Rothwell and Chase Gormley have been picked up and their original Affliction fight is now on the UFC 104 card.

gormely gotta be sitting on cloud nine right now, he is 6 fights into his career against mediocre competition and debuting in UFC with the 36 fight vet rothwell. He's in a undermanned division so all he has gotta do is put on a good show and avoid a bunch of legkicks.

looks like this contract may not get done. The sticking point being M1 Global wants to co-promote. No way Dana gives Fedor a shot at the UFC belt then lets him fight elsewhere after beating Lesnar

Yea looks like the "finalizing" part was a little premature. Did you guys see what the UFC supposedly offered. M1 denied it but it was reported 5 mill a fight lol...Who knows whos telling the truth...M1 is such a sham trying to piggy back off the UFC with this co-promote BS.

Pretty sad that Fedor's camp can't make this work. What is their next best option? Seriously??

And just adding to the signed list - reportedly Dan Lauzon and LC Davis have signed on from affliction. Most likely will compete in the WEC at 145. Also, Paul Daley signed as well. Hopefully at today's UFC presser we will hear some more of the big names.

Rumours are flying around (as usual) for todays presser. Other than the UFC signing a deal with ABC/ESPN for a UK and network deal, Tito's return is supposed to be announced today. Also, a new main event for UFC 103 is supposed to be announced. Couple rumours are Hendo/Belfort, Tito/Franklin, and a new one....Wandy vs Belfort!!!! WOOHOOO. Man would I love to see that rematch .

From Tito's Myspace: “A new beginning starts tomorrow (Friday, July 31, 2009). I have stood my ground as a fighter and business man. Now my fans will get to see the best of me. New back, new mind, and new motivation. Every fighter will thank me later. Let the punishment begin!”

Here's what Wand had to say today:

31/07/09 - Wand: "You will be thrilled by my next oponent"

Wanderlei Silva has promised his fans they will be excited when they learn who his next opponent will be - and at what weight he will fight him.

"It's going to be a big surprise to everybody,” the former PRIDE FC middleweight champion told Planet Tatami.

“When I say against who and for what weight class people will get thrilled - the hairs on the back of their neck will stand up!”

Rumour had it that Silva would be matched with British middleweight Michael Bisping at UFC 105, which takes in Manchester, England later this year.

But Silva’s manager told Fighters Only recently that nothing had been signed and that the rumours were no more than that.

And with both Bisping and Silva coming off losses, the UFC may not be keen on matching them against each other at this point.

Silva last fought at UFC 99 in Germany, where he faced Rich Franklin at a catch weight of 195 pounds. Silva lost a split-decision.

Bisping fought at UFC 100 and suffered the first KO loss of career when Dan Henderson stopped him in the second round.

HOPEFULLY WE FIND THIS OUT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! The weightclass thng is throwing me off a bit. Could it be Tito @ 205??? Belfort @ 185??? HMMMMMMMMMM

good video interview at sherdog with Fedor. Says he has 3 fight left on this M-1 contract. It sounded to me like they won't be able to come to a UFC deal until that M-1 contract is up
