Ex WWE's Dave Batista to fight for Strikeforce
So my brother tells me about this & I thought he as kidding or mis-read something but I guess it might be true! Didnt this guy look sorta stiff even in a wrestling ring? Anyhow I'll watch him fight just as something to do!

    Here is the link

He's a former six-time WWE heavyweight wrestling champion of the world -- but this weekend Batista finally confirmed that he's now fighting for real ... for an MMA company called Strikeforce.

I would assume he would have to lose lots of that muscle before he can get in there & mingle

blooody elbow and other sites are saying nothing is final and strikeforce doesn't acknowledge talking to him..... i personally think he'll get his ass handed to him, he has no college wrestling expierence that other wwe guys that have come into the sport and isent he pretty old?.... anyways a good signing by strikeforce to get all the wrestling fanboys to catch some mma action

He'll get schooled by a real fighter just like Pudz did.

If he his background is in bodybuilding (like most wwe wrestlers) instead of athletics he'll likely get destroyed, especially considering his age. Also, while I don't watch WWE, people I know that do always bashed him as being uncoordinated and poor in the ring. This might be a case of Batista "believing his own gimmick."

Another guy thinks he can compete in MMA because he has big muscles. I can't wait to watch this clown get fukked up.

i see the strikeforce putting him in with a smaller striker, that is the ONLY way he can win.... smaller guy that he can drag him to the ground and hopefully do something there....fuk, give him the same guy they gave hershel...

whos to blame, the promoter writing his checks or the patrons paying to watch him fight?

he's simply a body builder that broke into professional wrestling based on his looks, then took some 'mma classes' and thinks he can follow in Bobby Lashley's footsteps. He'll never see the inside of an MMA ring as a serious fighter. I just read that he and Strikeforce can't agree on money, which means he wants the same money he was making in WWE and he won't clear his schedule because there has been interest from 'TV and Hollywood'. Go away already you ginormous douche.

StrikeForce is what it is. Nowhere near the UFC but they do have some very good fighters and can make some great FREE cards. I'm not crazy about some of there "gimmick fights" but if they need one of these fights per card to bring in some viewers, who really cares, just another fight to make some money on.

First off it isn't true, second off-what the hell do you think the James Toney fight is? A Gimmick to get people to watch.

I think Strikeforce is good and has good fighters and not to mention they give us big names for free and the UFC would charge us $44.95.

WWE is one of the biggest and best martial arts for helping someone with MMA. Look at Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. It's already surpassed karate, which is only used by Machida. I'm surprised more MMA fighters haven't considered joining the WWE for a short period of time to get the necessary training needed to become a champion.

As far as Strikeforce grabbing anyone, look at the UFC with James Toney and Kimbo Slice. The difference is WWE has produced successful MMA fighters.
