I'm on Virginia Tech. I don't know what the actual number is, but I remember hearing Va Tech is crazy good on Thursday night home games. If anyone has the trend, please let me know. Also, the matchup report has them -12, but stats wise it doesn't make a lot of sense considering Maryland is far better rushing and passing, and the rest is fairly even. Pags' input would be good, as he has a guy who knows the ins-outs of the Maryland program pretty well, so I'll see what he thinks.
With Va Techs poor field report why do they get a star. They have a lot of guys hurt. Am I missing something? I usually bet both of these teams and I have done well in the past. Still cant see a clear bet here.

Who are the 4 ranked teams VT defeated this season? If you are talking about GT and NC, those 2 teams were not ranked at the time of the game.
Did they win games with their QB-turn-WR-turn-QB? He was taking most of the snaps in pratice this week.
The only thing VT has going is their D. But if the O going 3 and out 75% of the time, the D will not have the energy to put up a fight in the 4th quarter. If you are on VT, all you can hope for is VT successfully run the clock w/ their running game. Then again, what do I know?
I believe it's VTech winning the last 4 games at home against ranked teams. And I think I saw somewhere that they are 7-1 ATS on Thursday's last 3 years.
Still looking at this game. Currently leaning towards VTech, looking into ways Maryland gets me off that lean, but as of right now, Maryland is horrendous on the road. Maryland is avg 110+rush/game and 200+pass/game on the road. They've only had 3 road games this year, and the last one was @ Virginia where they got shutout over a month ago. Maryland's D isn't that impressive on the road either, avg 180+yds rush/game and 220+yds pass/game on the road. And one of those roads games was @ Middle Tenn St, granted that was at the beginning of the year, but still come on Friedgen, those are the games you need to dominate. Now I'm not sold on VTech yet, they aren't exactly an offensive powerhouse. But they are at home, and play very tough at home, espicially on a weekday night.
I was worried about this game all day, and after some more digging I feel a little more confident about Viginia Tech at home. I think this will be a huge test for the Terps. Maryland has struggled big time on the road this season, getting blown out 31-0 by Virginia and losing by 10 at Middle Tennessee State. I also checked my trends and you have to like the Hokies in the Thursday night prime time spotlight as they are 12-3 ATS on Thursday nights the last 10 seasons while Maryland is just 1-6 SU and ATS in their last 7 on Thursdays. Maryland is just 10-22 ATS in road games versus good rushing defenses - allowing 120 rushing yards/game since 1992, losing these games by 14.5 ppg on average. I'm laying the points.
So if Glennon is playing, whats the play now Under or Over? How are these teams defenses?
I liked the Under.
If I HAD to play a side I'd take the under...but be advised...Maryland has gotten gashed this year on the road. And Lane Stadium will be rockin as usual. Va Tech's D is stout. They have a great corner who I'm sure you'll hear a lot about tonight-Victor Harris.
Thanks for the info. I like Vtech and Under. But it scares me that it appears everyone is on Vtech. Same thing that happened to NIU last night though.
Yeah, I know the feeling. Hopefully we'll all come through with a win. It is interesting that I haven't seen even one single poster going with Maryland tonight.
Noob here. I've been reading for awhile though. I have to agree. Not one person likes Maryland? Usually...actually...always there's someone on the other side. This is strange.

there road stats are pretty bad, they have given up over 200 yards rushing in 2 of their 3 road games this year, their offensive rushing on the road is average at best while their qb has completed only around 50% of his passes on the road.
also maryland on the road has:
-averages 11.3 points scored on the road
-gives up 24 points on the road
rushing seems to be va tech bread and butter as they average 204 yards rushing a game at home and seem to play strong at home. i can see maryland giving up around 2 maybe 3 turnovers this game.
