CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky should avoid surgery
Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) is reportedly dealing with a dislocated left shoulder - with a slight labrum tear - but will not require surgery and should be able to return to action 'sooner than later' based on initial MRI results, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Bears have some time with Trubisky on the shelf but it may not be as long as originally feared. He will reportedly travel with the team to London in Week 5 but not play versus the Oakland Raiders, and there is optimism he will play following the team's Week 6 bye.

NYJ - QB Sam Darnold's status for Week 5 in limbo
Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini
New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (illness) has been cleared for non-contact work and can begin throwing but has yet to receive clearance on returning to full practice, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini, who believes Darnold's status for Week 5 is 'up in the air.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Darnold wants to come back ASAP but the team needs to be careful with him. We'll see if he can do more as the week of practice rolls on. Luke Falk would start against the Eagles in Week 5 if Darnold can't go.

DET - TE T.J. Hockenson in protocol
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (concussion) is going through the concussion protocol after leaving the team's Week 4 game. Head coach Matt Patricia said the team is not concerned about Hockenson's shoulder.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The shoulder injury is not the concern, but seeing Hockenson land on his head after trying to leap two Chiefs defenders is a concern. We'll see if he can get through the protocol this week. The Lions have Jesse James and Logan Thomas to work at the tight end position if/when Hockenson misses time.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Callaway's speed and big-play ability will be a welcome addition to the Browns offense. He will especially help since Rashard Higgins (knee) and Jarvis Landry (concussion) are banged up.

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage was on the field for only eight offensive snaps during the Week 4 game.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Dolphins are using Kenyan Drake as their lead back. Behind him, we've seen more from Mark Walton as a reserve runner. Ballage has struggled with the touches the Dolphins have given him in 2019.

WAS - Washington unwilling to name starting QB
Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay
Washington Redskins QBs Case Keenum, Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy will all be evaluated through the end of practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, as head coach Jay Gruden is 'not sure' who he will start in Week 5 against the New England Patriots.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Haskins is their first-round pick and quarterback of the future, but this is a bad matchup for the rookie. We'll see if they throw Keenum out there in this tough start and perhaps replace him with Haskins if/when the game is out of control.

SF - RB Tevin Coleman generating optimism
Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco
San Francisco 49ers RB Tevin Coleman (ankle) has been spotted catching passes, quickly turning upfield and taking a few steps at half- to three-quarters speed recently as part of his rehab from the high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 1.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Coleman has played in one game so far this year and has been missing time with this high-ankle sprain since then. If he's not able to go, the 49ers will march on with Matt Breida, Raheem Mostert and Jeffrey Wilson in a 3-headed RBBC.

SEA - RB Rashaad Penny set to return in Week 5
Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta
Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (hamstring) is reportedly fully recovered from his hamstring strain and will play in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Penny got some rest in Week 4 as Chris Carson led the way on the ground for Seattle. We'll monitor his practice status during the week. He'd take some touches away from Carson if Penny can play against the Rams.

Source: ESPN.com
Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams (head) did not practice Monday, Sept. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Williams was carted off the field last Thursday night but he's doing well after being released from the hospital. It would take a minor miracle (in our opinion) for him to be out there in Week 5 against the Cowboys. That means Aaron Jones gets most all the work in the backfield against the Cowboys.

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams (toe) did not practice Monday, Sept. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Adams had an MRI on his toe injury that came back negative. It's seen as a minor turf toe injury (if there is such a thing) but as of Monday evening, Adam Schefter was reporting Adams was not expected to play this week against the Cowboys. We'll see if Adams can practice later in the week as the team prepares for Week 5.

CIN - WR A.J. Green update

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) isn't expected to be ready for Week 5 or Week 6, according to sources.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There has never really been a timetable for Green's return. Some speculate that it might have a little something to do with the fact that Green is in a contract year and looking for a new deal. Either way, the Bengals move forward with Tyler Boyd and John Ross as their top two targets. Auden Tate is also getting more work in 3-WR sets.
