CIN - QB Ryan Finley named the starter

Cincinnati Bengals QB Ryan Finley was named the starting quarterback Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The move to the rookie has been expected for some time now. Andy Dalton goes to the bench since the team isn't winning, and the Bengals get to take a look at Finley to determine whether or not he could continue to be a starter in the future. They are looking at a premium pick in the 2020 NFL draft and could be in the market for a premium passer. Finley is a big, tall, pocket passer with the arm strength to hit all throws required in the NFL.

Flacco has not been playing well for the Broncos this year. They will go with Brandon Allen as their starter in Week 9 against the Browns and he will be able to run more bootlegs than Flacco did (which was basically none). Allen is a deep add for Fantasy GMs in start-2 QB leagues or deep streaming leagues.

Gesicki showed signs of life earlier in the year, and this week was the first time that the superior athleticism he possesses showed up play after play on an NFL field. Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery posted 14 runs for 40 yards and two touchdowns in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles while posting three grabs for 36 yards on four targets.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Samuels spun his wheels with eight runs for just 10 yards in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts, but he posted 13 receptions for 73 yards on his 13 targets.

Samuels had a costly fumble but was helping move the chains all day in a very conservative pass offense. If James Conner is out next week as expected, Samuels will be an excellent PPR RB2 and worthy nonPPR flex.

The Colts offense was functional with Hoyer and he should be able to exploit the Dolphins defense if Brissett can't go next week. The Colts lost a heartbreaker in a situation where this outcome could end up being the difference between a playoff spot and staying home, although they should be able to recover in the standings next week.

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (foot) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 5, which will end his season.

Newton's Lisfranc injury was not getting better as the season wore on. He met with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson last week and didn't receive good news on his recovery. Kyle Allen continues as the starter for the team, and we may have seen the last of Newton in Carolina. He's owed a non-guaranteed $19.1 million in 2020.
