8 years, similar contract to Barkov's with Florida. Runs to his late 30s. Hopefully these 8 year extensions pan out for the teams.

Exactly, and yet they're handing them out like there's no tomorrow lately, especially to defence men.

I can't believe the Pens not only won but kicked the Lightning ass on a night where they celebrated back to back cups in their home arena in front of fans for the first time in two years. I didn't see that coming but I guess I really should've treaded lightly tonight betting NHL since it's early in the season and we don't know how these teams are going to play yet.

I usually consider going with a team that is playing their first game without a key player, especially when it's all over the news. I balked here though because it was 2 key players.

I considered fading last year's champs, but ended up laying off due to Pittsburgh missing 2 key players.

rangers immediately wanted to fight, and the penalties put them in a hole they couldn't recover from

Well I took another beating tonight with my hockey bets so I'm probably going to scale back my action in the NHL until we see more of these teams. I was just so excited to get started betting hockey because it's quickly become one of my favorite sports to bet on but after these first two days and not winning a single bet I've got to be more selective with which games I bet I think.

They definitely wanted to leave their mark and make a statement, but need to stay out of penalty box.

Goalie Campbell played well staving off an aggressive start by the Canadiens, and Nylander scored the winner in the Leafs' 2-1 win over Habs.

Next up home and home series starting Thursday in Ottawa.

Toronto fans are back: 18,500 attendance.
