2025 Super Bowl Odds: Chiefs, 49ers Lead the Way Ahead of July Training Camp

The Kansas City Chiefs have won back-to-back Lombardi Trophies, but the runner-up San Francisco 49ers are closing in on the favorites in the 2025 Super Bowl odds from our best Super Bowl betting sites.
Five months after the Chiefs beat the 49ers in Super Bowl 58, our best sports betting sites have those two set as the favorites to face off for the third time in six seasons.
It shouldn't surprise anyone to see the two-time defending champions priced atop the field to win Super Bowl 59, which will take place in New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025. Kansas City is already a 3-point favorite by the NFL Week 1 odds to beat the Baltimore Ravens, who own the next-best odds behind the Chiefs and 49ers.
The Detroit Lions check in at fourth after a brutal collapse in the NFC Championship last year, while the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals - the biggest AFC challengers to NFL MVP odds favorite Patrick Mahomes over the last five postseasons - round out the top six ahead of training camps later this month.
Here are the early 2025 Super Bowl odds from our best NFL betting sites, along with our favorite NFL picks before the season begins on Sept. 5.

2025 Super Bowl favorites
Chiefs (+600)
For 18 weeks, the Chiefs played the fool. Their receivers couldn't catch a pass, their stars looked worn down, and the defending champions looked like anything but a title contender.
Then, of course, Mahomes and Co. flipped a switch in the playoffs en route to a second straight Lombardi Trophy, reminding us once again that the all-time greats should never be judged by the regular season. It's why I wouldn't expect this price to dip much at all between now and the 2025 postseason.
There's on-field optimism, too, after Kansas City kept Chris Jones in-house and added speedsters Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy to a receiver room that sorely needed new blood. The loss of L'Jarius Sneed will hurt, but as long as Steve Spagnuolo, Andy Reid, and Mahomes are in tandem, the Chiefs will be tough to beat.
Best odds: +600 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 14.29%
49ers (+650)
The Niners fell short on Super Bowl 58, but you can make a compelling argument they were still the best team on paper last season. They were juggernauts when healthy with a record-setting offense, and their defense came together late in the year despite some hiccups.
Coach Kyle Shanahan opted for a change on that end, replacing defensive coordinator Steve Wilks with Nick Sorensen and new assistant head coach Brandon Staley, but the 49ers should retain the lion's share of talent for an offense that is virtually matchup-proof.
There's a reason this team has been to four NFC Championships since 2019 with two trips to the Super Bowl, both ending at the hands of Kansas City. The Niners led by 10 points in both games and have as good of a shot as any team to hoist the Lombardi Trophy next February.
Best odds: +650 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 13.33%
Ravens (+1000)
If only the Ravens ran the ball, right? That seemed to be the biggest issue separating John Harbaugh's group from their first trip to the Super Bowl in the Lamar Jackson era.
Jackson was phenomenal last season, combining for 4,499 yards and 29 touchdowns in his second MVP campaign in five years. Baltimore's defense allowed the NFL's fewest points per game (16.5) with the second-best red-zone defense (40.8%), and its run game paced the league in yards per game (156.5) with 26 touchdowns - one off the league lead.
Of course, the Ravens famously tried to air it out against Kansas City's elite pass defense in the AFC Championship, and their reward is a long offseason to ponder their mistakes. I can't imagine they won't take to the ground with prized new rusher Derrick Henry leading the way.
This was the best team last year by record (13-4) and point differential (plus-203), and while the Ravens suffered some roster attrition - especially on the defensive end - they should once again be in the mix as one of the NFL's best teams all season long.
Best odds: +1000 via Caesars | Implied probability: 9.09%
My Super Bowl pick to watch
Falcons (+2800)
We had the Texans in this spot earlier this offseason, and while I'm as high on Houston as the next guy, the market has already effectively sapped the value from the AFC's shiny new contender.
Instead, I'm peering further down the oddsboard at the Falcons, who sit as low as 25/1 after signing QB Kirk Cousins - who was quietly on an MVP pace last season - to a big deal this summer. Yes, Atlanta's front office subsequently spent a high pick on Michael Penix Jr., but this offense already has plenty of young talent in Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts with room to grow in 2024-25.
The defense is the bigger concern, though new head coach Raheem Morris worked magic with a Los Angeles Rams unit that was cap-strapped and light on young talent. I like his chances of doing the same with a group that returns star safety Jessie Bates and cornerback A.J. Terrell, among others.
Best odds: +2800 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 3.45%

AFC championship odds
The Chiefs have won the AFC in four of the last five years, and they led by 18 points in the fifth before the Bengals rallied for an overtime win at Arrowhead Stadium. So it shouldn't surprise anyone to see Kansas City dealing as the favorite to win it again.
That said, the Ravens are charging ahead for the top spot after securing the No. 1 seed last year, while the Bengals and Bills are hungry for another crack at Mahomes. Don't sleep on the Texans, who added Stefon Diggs as a bona fide WR1 alongside rising superstar quarterback C.J. Stroud and a sneaky good defense.

NFC championship odds
The 49ers are still vying for their first Super Bowl victory in the Shanahan era, but they've reached the NFC Championship four times in the last five years with two conference titles after last year's comeback win over the Lions.
Detroit will certainly have its say after bringing back the lion's share of talent from last year's resurgent group, while the Eagles appear poised to bounce back after a disastrous encore to their Super Bowl run in 2022. The Packers and Cowboys could make some noise, too, if their young talent takes a step forward in 2024.

Super Bowl 2025 exact matchup odds
If you're looking for a fun way to chase long-shot profits, you can try to predict the exact matchup for Super Bowl 2025. The current favorite is a (second) rematch between the Chiefs and 49ers, with those two teams featured prominently among all the top options in this market.
Be forewarned that the math typically isn't in your favor for a bet like these, as it's essentially a parlay on the AFC and NFC champions rolled into one bet. It's hard enough to predict one winner, so proceed with caution and view this as more of an entertainment bet with the upside of a major payday.

Super Bowl 2025 exact result odds
As if it wasn't hard enough just to pick the finalists, you can make an even greater return if you accurately predict the exact result of Super Bowl 2025.
Once again, a repeat of last year's result - the Chiefs beating the 49ers - is the likeliest outcome in oddsmakers' minds, though these +2500 odds still only imply a 3.85% chance of that happening for a second straight year and third time in six seasons.

How to bet on the Super Bowl
Betting into the Super Bowl market is one of the most popular but challenging things to do successfully as a sports bettor. You have to carefully consider a mix between a team's viability in the regular season and its aptitude for the postseason.
First, you need to consider a team's ability to make the playoffs, which feature seven teams in each conference with a first-round bye for the No. 1 seed. That last part is key - the top seed in each conference routinely reaches (and wins) the Super Bowl, so betting on an elite regular-season team is a solid way to succeed in this market.
That said, a team's postseason success tends to be highly correlated to quarterback play, coaching, and elite defense. That's been the formula for decades, and while a top-flight defense is perhaps the least important of those three, there are only so many franchise quarterbacks and championship-level coaches around.
That's why the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, have won two straight Super Bowls and three of the last five. It's also why most Super Bowl winners tend to enter the season with odds shorter than 10/1, as the teams with those key elements in place are the ones you can expect to survive through February.
How to read Super Bowl odds
A crucial step to betting on the Super Bowl is understanding how the odds work. Put simply, American odds represent how much money you would win on a $100 wager - or, in some cases, how much money you would need to wager to return $100.
Let's refer to an example. The Kansas City Chiefs opened with +750 odds to win the 2025 Super Bowl. That means a $100 bet at those odds would return $750 in profit, or a $10 bet would return $75 in profit. You could even bet $1 for a $7.50 return if Kansas City does indeed win its third consecutive championship this February.
A team like the Houston Texans, which opened at +2500 odds, would return a whopping $2,500 in profit if they win their first Super Bowl. Of course, those odds suggest they are much less likely to do so, as those +2500 odds represent an implied probability of just 3.85% according to our odds converter.
As we get closer to the Big Game, you may see a team dealing at "negative" odds. For example, the San Francisco 49ers were priced at -125 ahead of Super Bowl 58, meaning you would need to bet $125 to win $100, or $12.50 to win $10. You'll want to be careful staking too much on bets with minus odds, as what can seem like a "sure thing" is always vulnerable to the chaos and unpredictability of sports.
