so i got myself a big nba database, i have all the scores, spreads and play by play information. i am looking at the play by play data and trying to correlate that to 2nd half NBA totals and got stuck. i am really disappointed to see that the best correlation to 2nd half scoring i can find, is just first half scoring. i tried making a "pace" metric, figuring that maybe a first half could have low scoring even despite a fast pace due to luck, and tried to see if many made shots, missed shots, layups, steals, etc. would correlate with high 2nd half scoring, and it doesn't. what am i missing how can i use all this datas

I have been betting 2H NBA plays for a while and am tweaking here and there to weed out some plays but I have a good idea of what to look for as far as criteria goes to see if a game "qualifies" as a potential 2H play at the half...Comment -

I asked for the website that you used to scrape it. But anyways, I did make a detailed database from basketball-reference.com's play by play myself. Still need to add betting information (like lines and public betting) from another site that hopefully I would do on Sunday.
