    MLB First Inning Stats?
What is your best baseball stat resource when you are handicapping games?

I am looking for one stat in particular. I am looking for a place I can look back to see how pitchers and teams performed in the first inning. I have been betting some "will there be a score in the first inning"and have been doing pretty well. I would like to research more on this subject.

    Thanks

this site has info on first inning, although I'm not too sure about their source or reliability, so I only employ it with limited power

I have been following some of the threads on here and such but when I capped a few of my own games I had some solid results. I was just looking for an easier place to access these stats instead of manually doing it. Thanks for all the help!

Very interesting. I may look into it myself. Great topic! How have the results for you been precent wise?

I use sportsdatabase.com. Once you learn the basic query syntax the possibilities are endless.

When you use sportsdatabase how many days back can it go?

As far back as you want it to. I think it has every game from at least the last decade.

not only are you betting into larger vig but its skewed in favour of the more expected outcome. in other words you have a mountain to climb. just to give you some idea of the no vig line on these props here are some figures.

expected team total / percentage of no score

                        3/ 78.1
                        3.1/77.68
                        3.3/76.84
                        3.4/76.42
                        3.5/76
                        3.6/75.56
                        3.7/75.12
                        3.8/74.68
                        3.9/74.24
                        4/73.80
                        4.1/73.44
                        4.2/73.08
                        4.3/72.72
                        4.4/72.36
                        4.5/72
                        4.6/71.54
                        4.7/71.08
                        4.8/70.62
                        4.9/70.16
                        5/69.7
                        5.1/69.34
                        5.2/68.98
                        5.3/68.62
                        5.4/68.26
                        5.5/68

just multiply the 2 team totals and that it the price of no run in the 1st inning.
