After a little break, it’s time to prepare for the biggest racing day of the year. Hopefully I can get back into some kind of a groove for the Breeders Cup. Good luck all. I’m gonna start with the DRF Race of the Day Pick, Race 10 @ Laurel.

I think both have a good chance, one at 10-1 and the other at 8-1 ML, I think it it worth a shot.

Gonna post my random Breeders Cup Plays here with a few thoughts as well, I will be playing these unless they are scratched.

Del Mar

Race 7: 3- Sharp Azteca (ML 9-2), I really like Sharp Azteca, I see him gun to the lead with 6-Mor Spirit just behind him, and 8-Accelerate closely follow, but maybe wide to the first turn. Sharp Azteca should dictate the pace and with Baffert, Chad Brown and other big trainers, I think his odds will be somewhere in 7 or 8-1, which I think is worth a shot at that price. He worked 5f @ 58 change, leads me to believe he should not have any problem with the track.

Race 8: 1- Mendelssohn (ML 8-1), this colt cost a heft $3M, that's insane. Just have to go with the connections, Trainer Aidan O'Brien for owners: Smith & Magnier & Tabor, and jockey Moore. His last race @ 7f, G1 earned him a Timeform Rating of 104, that is the same as the ML favorite 6- Masar which is at 9-2. You know this race is wide open. Gonna do some exacta box 1, 6 and another one (just don't know which one yet).

Race 9: 2- Stellar Wind (ML 5-2), she seems like a logical single, but she hasn't won at 1 1/8... Hmmm Maybe I will go with up and coming 7- Paradise Woods (ML 9-2). She has some crazy naturally speed too. Trained by Dick Mandella is a plus. Need to think about this one more.
