saw the pools and he is right around that..burnham square was flying at the end of that churchill msw route yesterday


#9 curlin (15-1 sunday morning)

one of my futures (journalism) and baffert has one (getaway car) that had imo a nice 2yo season..add in a pletcher (uncaged) who broke his maiden first out at saratoga
but hasn't been seen since ..maybe a slight issue and they're going to wait on him ..

my feeling is you can have a contender start as a late 2 early 3yo and have a shot .. with a sire of curlin's stature something very talented could pop up and there could be another contender or two (maybe even three) along the way

my only thing with him is he's a sprint influence on the bottom and he's all speed in sprints ..not sure he'll want the long distance ..probably stick with chancer although he'll have to overcome that drop back early habit he seems to have ..also have a few decent one's under curlin future wager

I think if I was going to add 1 more (I don't like to do too many) it'd be the horse that competed against chancer in the hopeful at saratoga (#13 ferocious) ..way he ran in the juvenile with traffic trouble hints to me that he might like going longer..cost over $1M so you know there was quality to begin with..close to 40-1 now

3 horses between 2 and 4-1 with 5 mtp..can't get much more competitive than that ..hope both of yours run well

7 ran a decent race he had a little issue on the backstretch... He got shut off eased back and still rallied for 3rd
3 horse showed some moxie coming back to win the race after getting headed inside the 16th pole after leading the race.

#13 Magnitude(not this time ) winner WOW where did that race come from!
#3 finished 4th
the other 2 finished up the track... I think East Avenue was second from last

think there were some things to like about him at a price..beside his debut and last race in the slop he showed very consistent speed the 4 races in between with 2 wins and a 2nd to show no pun for it ..he's a lightly raced 3yo who "cost a bunch of money" and the possibility of a breakout race not unrealistic at this early stage of his career..
" I had another" but a case could be made going in ,imo, that over 40-1 on a horse like this might be an overlay

Yes Indeed!.... some people in the owners group were betting the future pool getting 9/2... of course they get " all others" including "Magnitude who ran his eye balls out... but as you know I have both sires in the future pools!

It would be interesting to see what the odds would be if they did another futures bet.... "into mischief "would have to be very low

yes no value now..not a secret that LM has 2 solid contender's in caldera and burnham square

thing with into mischief is even going in early (fall/winter) most know he's one of the 3 most expensive north american sires @ $250k ..LM @ 40k is more below the radar so you were able to get bombs away odds in the sires pool in december..I would guess even back then IM had at least a few solid contenders
