    Another head scratcher??
    Turf Par R6 #5 Cornishman. AOC 22K.

    This pops up from my stable. Previous 3, Cox/Godolfin. 2nd 73K 8/5. Fav 250K Louisiana Derby, runs decent 5th. 3rd 127K at 9/5.

Today (see above) owner Joe Schumer, Barn Tena Birdwell, Jock Luis Valenzuela. ML 4-1

Godolfin so filthy rich that they didn't want this guy any longer? Had to be plus $$ for the barn.

Yes. Godolphin IS so filthy rich they no longer wanted him.

High end barns like that only have so many stalls. If you are not of the quality they are looking for, they will sell, transfer, whatever to clear that stall for another high end prospect.

Sold and on to the next trainer. That clears the stall space for the next Curlin out of a Bernadini mare young and fresh prospect waiting on the farm to come in. Lol.

For 80k and in THAT spot?

              I would certainly hope so.

godolphin priced him to sell at auction and they most likely have a plan for him at turf paradise ..might be capable of doing well in stakes races there ..one more allowance condition but they pay very little ..big time pedigree, lightly raced 3yo who's already shown significant talent ..not up to the big leagues though .. imo good chance they'll do well with him on this circuit (understand I'm saying this after the win today)

I think the overall purse amount is secondary to getting this horse into the winners circle and see if winning can get him to improve . It does work. Not always but if he can win 1 or 2 more in a row, the horse will typically undergo a mental improvement which follows often times by a physical improvement. Kind of like if you are starting to do well and having recent success in something you are working at. You get on a roll. Everything feels a little better.
And mentally, that can be huge. THAT is what I would be shooting for right now. It goes back to one of the craziest things I used to say, but felt it was often times correct. That being, it is easier to win 3 in a row than it is 2 in a row. Weird, I know. But it seems to be the case often enough. Still remember people looking at me kind of funny when I said it. Lol. At least it got their attention.

he might have the potential to be a low level stakes,g3 type horse at Tup or maybe other Midwest tracks (canterbury, remington, hawthorne, delta downs etc) besides turf paradise..certainly that's below the type of races godolphin is looking to win but nice for these connections..i'm pretty sure you would agree billionaires or close creates opportunities for some who play the game at a lower level ..they're probably or less likely not going to sell or run a horse that should not be running because it's not worth risking their reputation and is the wrong thing to do..losing a relatively small amount of money is no big deal to them

I see the logic in winning 2 being more difficult than winning 3 ..2nd win gets some confidence and momentum in them .. might be true in sports also but maybe would be 3 straight with that

be another cool one to follow

and if they win or run well first out and go on to be something good (possibly a sire) I enjoy following along..not necessarily from a betting but a fan perspective

My focus is usually how they handle adversity in their first few starts. Some say "no thanks" and others put their heads down and try to overcome.

had a lot to do with why I followed some of the ones I did ..kingsbarns,deterministic and world record overcame a lot of adversity in their debuts..WR lost by < 1 length and the other two won theirs .. army mule was just flat out brilliant and won by a bunch
