yes it happened in game 5

the game plan was to stop curry. the celtics put tatum on curry. it didn't work. curry didn't do anything and the celtics got blown out

you can focus on a guy too much. that pile of garbage wiggins went off because all they cared about was curry

I agree. The Mavs completely sold out on Curry; sending two guys at him even when he was out near the midcourt line. The result was lots of paint points and lots of offensive rebounds. Goal is to send just enough help to bother him but not at the expense of making the entire game a picnic for the others.

if i'm the celtics i crash the boards, give tatum and brown rest, and put smart on curry, and continue to switch on screens (don't follow). they relied on smart for offense last game, that's not what you want. tatum ended up losing energy playing both ends of the floor

it's a simple formula to win. when you have more talent on the floor, don't panic, even up the matchups and win on that talent alone. no games, don't confuse the players. the simpler the plan, the easier it is for the players to take the game into their own hands.

but, we'll see tonight. i'm sure they game-planned it, and udoka has come up with garbage game plans (last game) and great ones too

Looks like Udoka is going to make changes, I don't trust what he's doing...but the guy is getting paid to figure it out, not me.

“We’ve talked about it and looked at some of the counters they’re trying to make with the guys we bring in,” he explained to the press after practice on Wednesday. “I think small ball has worked for us,” suggested the Celtics coach. “We’d obviously like to get a little more out of Payton (Pritchard) and Derrick (White) than we did in the last game. Grant (Williams) has been a big part of what we’ve done this year.”

“We know what they’re trying to do as far as when they substitute,” related Udoka. “We can combat that with some lineup changes we’re looking at.”

What concerns me about Udoka is the guy is reactionary, not forward thinking

So if Kerr comes up with a new game plan and the Celtics are still playing a reaction to game 6, the celtics have problems

The Celtics beat up on the Nets because the Celtics came up with a new game plan, and Nash never adjusted to any of it. He never tried the big player approach
