NBA - Lebron James - Youngest to 4,000 points
    He is the King.
Its even better because he passed Kobe for the youngest.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- LeBron James made history. Donyell Marshall helped make sure it came in a victory.

James became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 4,000 career points and finished with 26 to help the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Orlando Magic 108-100 in overtime on Sunday night.

"Unbelievable," Cleveland coach Mike Brown said. "That kid is a talent. It couldn't happen to a better person. He's a great person, great leader and I enjoy being around him. To be around him when it happened is a tremendous feeling."

James (20 years, 318 days) entered the game needing 10 points to pass Kobe Bryant (21 years, 216 days). After scoring on a jumper, two driving layups and a dunk, James reached the milestone on a 21-footer with 58.7 seconds left in the first quarter.

"I don't let individual statistics make me unfocused or more focused," James said. "I just came out and tried to attack early and get us a big lead. We were able to take it into overtime and get a win."

Marshall sent the game into overtime, making a 3-pointer with 18.1 seconds left. Steve Francis missed a potential game-winning 18-footer at the buzzer.

"It's devastating ... it's a heartbreaker," Orlando's DeShawn Stevenson said of Marshall's shot. "Donyell's a good shooter. You have got to give him credit."

Larry Hughes had 22 points for Cleveland, which has won four straight. The three previous wins came by an average of 19 points.

"We needed a game like this," Marshall said. "We needed a game to show what we can do and start learning how to think at the end of the game. It was a good test for us."

Francis led Orlando with 22 points and Dwight Howard had 21 points and 16 rebounds.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who had 20 points, scored two baskets and Hughes hit a jumper as the Cavaliers jumped out to a 94-88 lead in overtime and never trailed after that.

"We had different guys step up down the stretch and we found a way to win," Brown said. "We're still in the learning process and still have a long way to go."

After the Magic fell behind 48-31 at the half, Pat Garrity's 3 and a basket by Howard pulled them even at 84 with 1:46 left. Francis then gave Orlando an 86-84 advantage on two free throws with just over a minute to go.

"The first half, they took our hearts," Howard said. "We just came back and got our hearts back. We fought so hard to get back into the game. Marshall hit the shot at the end of the game ... we were supposed to get that win."

After Hughes made one of two free throws to cut the Cavaliers' deficit to 86-85, Francis made two more free throws extending the Magic lead to three at 88-85 with 18.1 seconds to play.

"We're trying to become one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, if not the whole league," James said. "We're a confident team. We had confidence we were going to win the game."

Pretty nice accomplishment, within it's context. The context being NBA players who made the direct jump from high school to the NBA. James has definitely set the standard. Kobe took a while to get established. It should be fun to see how Kobe and James continue. They both have a lot of career left to play.
