Hi everyone,

I am new to this betting game, and i was just wondering what it means when there is a negative or positive sign beside numbers. Also I was wondering what does parlay mean and from my experience it tends to give a lot more money, so I was just wondering what it means and how does it work? This is all towards the NHL side of betting.

When its a plus money you win more than even money, in other words your win amount on these amounts will be bigger than your actual bet size. If it is exactly +100 then the win amount will be exactly same as you bet amount. minus amount means you win less than even money...i.e. when you bet these odds you win amount will always be smaller than your bet amount. in two way betting, plus line is the underdog and the negative line is the favorite.

in most cases parlays are sucker bets...you never get true odds in parlay. it may seem like you can win more but in the long run, you will end up losing more playing parlays.
