Question about live odds (soccer handicaps)
Hey, was watching Atletico vs Bilbao today and I realized that live handicaps must work differently from pre-game.

Atletico was at around 1.40 moneyline pregame, which is usually the same as taking them -0.5.

But, at halftime, when they were already up 1-0, they were paying over 2.0 for -0.5. Bilbao who was down was paying less, around 1.85 for +0.5.

So did I read something wrong, or is there a different system for live handicaps?

The goal was irrelevant for the bet you looked at. Had you of taken the bet it was basically 0-0 if that makes sense? Had it been 5-0 to atletico the odds would of been the same hypothetically (probably not those exact odds but I hope you get the point).

*Sorrynot 0-0 but you're losing by half a goal. So Athletic Bilbao would of been leading by half a goal. I've been drinking and hate typing but hope this has made some sense.

Ah okay so the handicap was taken ignoring the current score, I get it now.
