    Is SBR all about secrets?
Ive been on the site for a few days now. Really enjoying it. No complaints with any of the layout, concept, betpoints, etc.

My question is this, Does everyone have "a system" that they dont want to share? I get it, its a system and you dont want everyone using it. However, what is the point of posting about your system and then not giving the details of it? I guess I am used to a different forum where we all used to share what we were doing to try to help each other improve. On here, I cant tell you the number of post I have seen that go something like this:

"I am betting this team _________ because I have a system that keeps winning. Tail me if you want. I look at (insert generic stat with no details, ex. ERA) and (insert some other random something or other). I just dont get what the point of posting that you have a system is if you arent willing to share it? Couldnt everyone and their brother just pick a random team because they used a true handicap and then pretend it is a system? I just feel leery......

Am I over reading this or is it truthfully the culture here? What should I expect from SBR? Just trying to get the lay of the land and standards so I know what to expect moving forward.

Please dont take the comments I make as an attack on members or on SBR. It is simply an inquiry of the accepted culture here.

Nobody is going to share their system with random strangers on an internet forum if they think that the system is novel and has value. Obviously, if they don't tell you the details of their system, you can only judge its quality from the results of their bets. Most of the threads are made by losing handicappers, and you will lose if you tail them. I'd imagine that every sports betting forum is like that.

Sometimes posters will share some valuable info on why they like a play. But you also get a lot of the above type of threads as well. Got to pick and choose.

how about collaboration a group of guys with different strength combining to create a better system than what an individual could accomplish alone?

There is no such thing as a system that works or sportsbetting would be extinct , human error trumps all. Anyone who has a system that they say works is just on a good run , or they're trying to sell you something.

Horses- you are partly right about that. Don't take anything here too seriously. Good cappers are attacked by ghosts and run off.

This site can be entertainment more than anything.
