I'm gonna put this in the Newbie section since it's probably trivial for Americans.
I see a lot of different ratings for plays, say 5*, 8*, 10* etc. As a Euro I am used to the decimal odds, 1.91, 2.10 etc and it's easy to determine the stake with those odds. If say my bankroll is $1000 I have a max play of $30 which would be what I put down for a 10* play.
How do I apply this to American odds though? If I'm playing a 10* -200 favorite, do I put down $30 to win $15 or do I put down $60 to win $30?
I hope this makes sense and anyone can understand my question.
