Zidane's teammates say Materazzi called his sister a prostitute!!!
In the second day of the Zidane-Materazzi soap some players in the french national team said today that Materazzi aparently called Zidanes sister a prostitute. This allegedly lead to Zidane loosing his temper and headbutting Materazzi in the chest.

Materazzi accepted he insulted Zidane but wouldnt comment on the insult. He said he did it in response to Zidanes arrogant attitude. Apparently after a corner kick scuffle in which Materazzi held Zidanes jersey briefly the french superstar told the italian defender " I know you want my shirt, but dont worry, I will give it to after the game.
Then came the unknown insult and then the already famous headbutt.

5 newspapers in the UK bought the services of 5 different lip-readers to try and translate what was actually said. All 5 lip-readers came up with very different translations.

Unless someone definatively speaks out, we're never going to know what actually happened.

Materazzi admits he insulted Zidane before head butt

MILAN, Italy (ESPNSoccernet.com news services) -- Marco Materazzi acknowledged he insulted Zinedine Zidane before the French captain head-butted him in the World Cup final, but repeated his denial that he called Zidane a "terrorist."

"I did insult him, it's true," Materazzi said in Tuesday's Gazzetta dello Sport. "But I categorically did not call him a terrorist. I'm not cultured and I don't even know what an Islamic terrorist is."

A Paris-based anti-racism group issued a statement Monday saying Materazzi had called Zidane, whose parents emigrated to France from Algeria, a "dirty terrorist."

FIFA announced Tuesday it would open a disciplinary investigation into the circumstances of Zidane's head butt.

"FIFA will open a disciplinary investigation into Zidane's conduct to enable it to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident as exactly as possible," world soccer's governing body said in a statement.

Zidane and Materazzi exchanged words in extra-time of Sunday's final in Berlin. Seconds later, Zidane lowered his head and rammed Materazzi in the chest, knocking him to the ground. Zidane was ejected from the match.

"I held his shirt for a few seconds only, then he turned round and spoke to me, sneering," the Italian defender told the newspaper. "He looked me up and down, arrogantly and said: 'If you really want my shirt, I'll give it to you afterwards.'"

The 32-year-old Inter Milan player did not elaborate on exactly what he said to Zidane.

"It was one of those insults you're told tens of times and that always fly around the pitch," he said.

A sixth newspaper from San Francisco employed a lip-reader of their own who reports that Materazzi clearly said to Zidane (in French), "I like your haircut and your ass looks fabulous in those white shorts. Forget your shirt, can I wear your jockstrap after the match?"

Of course, hurling a cur such as this to a Frenchman is more than enough reason for the insulted to thrust his head through the chest of his opponent thereby effectively reducing his team's chances of winning the match to virtually nil. His team is unimportant at this point. What's important is the integrity of his protective undergarments.

I can't think of any words the guy could have said where it would be anything other than idiotic of Zidane to get himself red-carded at that point in the game and tournament. I don't care if Zidane's grandma just died and the guy is saying he had sex with the corpse. You shrug it off. I would expect better composure from a 14 year-old.

If Zidane is that delicate and sensitive about being insulted, he should at least have the self-restraint - for the good of team and country - to wait until after the match to go take his cheap shot.

It kind of reminds me of when Adam Morrison broke down crying during his tournament game - and there was still time on the clock. Zidane's move was much worse but, in any case, at least wait until the game is over before melting down.

This quote from Materazzi gave me a laugh though. It is so absurd it leads me to believe the insult probably was on the terrorist theme.

Aside from people who live on remote islands untouched by modern society, I'm pretty sure that just about everyone knows what an Islamic terrorist is.

Let's not forget. We're dealing with soccer players. These are the same guy's who lay on the field for 15 minutes. Then they are taken off on a stetcher. Ten minutes later they are back in the game like nothing happened.

It doesn't matter if Materazzi said he had unprotected anal sex with his mother...you can't excuse Zidane's actions. I'm not buying what Matarazzi had to say in response to accusations that he called Zidane a terrorist. "I'm not cultured", "I don't know what terrorist means"...is he an idiot?

I guess that would make George Bush the world's most cultured man?!

Surely we've lost something in this translation.

Zidane's mum has eunuch penalty for Marco

ITALIAN sledger Marco Materazzi is set to be cleared by FIFA of alleged racist remarks said to have provoked the extraordinary headbutt from Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, but he will get no respite from Zidane's mum.

Zidane's mother has declared she wants Materazzi's "balls on a platter" after he allegedly called Zidane the "son of a terrorist whore" in Monday's World Cup final.
FIFA is investigating the allegations that Materazzi provoked Zidane with racist insults, but sources within FIFA said the chances of proving the claims were fading.

However, the investigation has been overshadowed by extraordinary claims in London's Daily Mirror from Malika Zidane, Zinedine's mum.

According to the newspaper, Mrs Zidane has defended her son's actions, telling friends: "I am utterly disgusted by what I have heard. I praise my son for defending his family's honour.

"No one should be subjected to such foul insults on or off the football pitch and I don't care if it was a World Cup final.

"I have nothing but contempt for Materazzi and, if what he said is true, then I wants his balls on a platter.

"Our whole family is deeply saddened that Zinedine's career should end with a red card but at least he has his honour. Some things are bigger than football."

While confirming he did insult Zidane, Materazzi has denied involving his mum or making racist comments.

Mrs Zidane may also have an agenda for FIFA boss Sepp Blatter, who yesterday said Zidane could be stripped of his World Cup best player award, the Golden Ball.

"It's not FIFA that decides who wins this award but an international committee of journalists," Blatter said.

"FIFA has the responsibility of intervening when it is a matter of conduct which goes against the ethics of the sport."

The president of Algeria has sent a letter of support to Zidane, the son of Algerian immigrants.

If Materazzi escapes penalty, he will be available for what shapes as a fiery Euro 2008 qualifier between Italy and France in Paris on September 6.

But Italy will not have the services of coach Marcello Lippi, who resigned last night.

Despite widespread calls for him to stay, Lippi suggested weeks ago he would resign.

He felt he and his son Davide were attacked personally in the corruption scandal tainting Italy's domestic game.

Not lost in any translation is Materazzi's physical style of play...

EDIT: Thanks to Jose for sending that link to me.

Hmmm, sounds like something a terrorist whore might say.

                          Materazzi comes clean...

So Materazzi finally admits what he said...

                          http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/5935068?FSO1&ATT=HMA
Materazzi says that after he held his opponent's shirt, Zidane said: "If you want, I'll give you the jersey later."

In Tuesday's interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport, Materazzi said, "I responded that I preferred his sister, it's true. It wasn't something nice, true. But luckily there have been dozens of players who have confirmed that a lot worse things are said on the field."
