Elite Eight is here.. Congrats posters!
It’s that time of year again. Welcome to the 128 Man Elite Eight!
The following posters are worthy of a big round of applause for making it this far: Woodg8, Tsoprano, Cavstime09, Verbalkint, SportsLockPicks, MartinBlank, MexicanStallion, and mr. leisure. The road here wasn’t always easy, but each contestant persevered through and overcame their share of adversity in advancing into the money.
A special shot-out is also in order to the following posters which were eliminated from the round of Sweet Sixteen: Applepicks, bgboothA, smitch124, clarkd32, Dark Horse, and MartinBlank.
The Sweet Sixteen was not a round of big upsets, as the clear favorite of the field in SBR forum poster Tsoprano compiled a dominant 8-2 +5.90 victory over bgboothA. bgboothA had a respectable showing winning 5 of his picks, but going against Tsoprano is similar to facing off against Tom Brady: you’ve got to score a hell of a lot more to be safe.
We saw two absolute nail-biters of matches which came down to the last possible plays in Woodg8 vs Applepicks and MartinBlank vs Smarmy. We also saw the biggest underdog in recent memory, according to the for-fun odds, in Dark Horse get trounced out by SBR newcomer SportsLockPicks.
