Opti that's a great post but it would make sense to me that Australians are better suited to handle what gambling is because of the way your culture naturally is.. hence the statistcs there are favorable. I don't know about any other Americans but I was never exposed to it until I was 25. I went to a casino once growing up but thats it. I didnt have parents or family members that went to tracks or had 5k on the bulls in the NBA finals or at least not that I'm aware of. Gambling was mainly unspoken of and I think the way you guys do it in Australia is pretty cool and I would imagine leads to more responsible gamblers. I'm not sure what nationality donty is European maybe but regardless I'm not sure your perspective is going to be understood by others in the manner in which you are attempting to show.
That's interesting. You're basically saying Australians are more responsible gamblers and Europeans are not?
I came across a website called Daily25 where an OZ person named Steve is documenting his betting, he has been doing it for almost 7 years, for the first 6 years he made around $500,000 AUD (around $100,000 AUD per year), then in the 6th year which is just recently, he lost around 50% of it but it hasn't stopped him and he continues to bet and in March he made $60,000 profits.
He said the losses hurt but he seems to be responsible with what he does rather win or lose.

Never thought the nationality or culture has anything to do with this but clearly this guy is an example for someone betting for a very long term. I'm just wondering haha what would happen if you take betting from his life that's the main question. And this is a guy with family and travels the world. Interesting story.

So this guy went from creating a thread about never betting again and telling everyone that he was only betting on himself from now on to getting back into betting within a few months and than disappearing shortly after. I wonder what happened to him..

So if you lose it's a problem obviously. If you win you risk losing your connections, your family because all you do is handicap. Why bother?
