    What is Scientology?
The full body of knowledge that comprises the Scientology religion is contained in more than forty million spoken and written words on the subject—all by L. Ron Hubbard, the source and founder of Scientology.

That public interest in Scientology is mounting rapidly is undeniable. This volume was first compiled in 1992 to fill the demand for a concise reference on Scientology. In the seven years since then, the explosive growth of Scientology churches, missions and groups around the world has necessitated the publication of this updated and expanded edition.

While continued expansion will inevitably change the numbers once again, much will remain constant, including, of course, the technology of Scientology and its effect upon all it touches. To provide an understanding of this phenomenon, contained herein is a complete description of Scientology: its religious philosophy, its practices, its organization, its activities and its growing influence on society.

People often ridicule what the Scientologists actually believe. Like when you get into the nitty-gritty stuff about the evil galactic ruler Xemu and how all of humanity's problems derive from the tortured spirits of murdered space aliens.

And that's just the beginning. Anyone think I'm joking about this? I'm not. Even followers of other religions will mock the absurdity of what Scientologists believe.

But it doesn't seem any more preposterous than any other religion to me.

It's funny to me when other religions mock it.... because all of them are bogus.

Any bible that doesn't contain detailed info on dinosaurs and why they roamed the Earth longer than any human (prior to the first dinosaur bones being discovered) was obviously written by a man.

South Park ridiculed Scientology in one of their episodes. To their credit, they are pretty much equal-opportunity with their mocking.

But Scientologist Isaac Hayes, who did the voice of the character Chef, found it so offensive, he quit the show.

            He's dead now.

The episode right after Hayes left the show ranks right up there as one of the most hate-filled, gruesome South Park episode ever. They did a number on him.

They did. But the interesting thing was, after Chef was brainwashed by the pedophile cult and ripped to shreds by wild animals such that it appeared he had to be dead - there was a final scene where he appeared to be resurrected in some kind of Darth Vader-like form. And that's where it left off.

It definitely left the door open for more Chef in the future. Maybe he will be back as an extra evil version of Chef that only Robert Smith of The Cure can defeat.
