Like usual, people get lost in the moment. Eli has 2 super bowls and was MVP of those super bowls..still he might not get in.

nor is Terrell davis 2 sb and a 2ooo yd season but he only played about 6 ys

Terrell and haley are both finalists this year but haley hasn't played since 1999 so if a guy with his creds has to wait 15 yrs talk about Wilson is nonsensical after 3 yrs

It's crazy how people are talking about Russell Wilson as HoF already. He is the most OVERRATED QB in the NFL. Not overrated as in "he's terrible", but overrated as in the exact meaning of the word, he is being way overvalued by many people, mainly because he's got a great winning record and on his way to get a 2nd ring.

But truly, Seahawks primary strength is not their QB, not even offence. It's their defence that's playing on a legendary level, that may be the best defence to ever play in the NFL. Their offence isn't amazing, and neither is Russell Wilson, yet they are good. He makes good conservative decisions, has a good arm, and he keeps to the play book and what he's told. He is no doubt very determinated to do his job.

But let's be 100% honest, take away the team and let us look at Russell Wilson as just the single player he is. Is he an elite QB? Is he a QB who can lift a bad team, and make them look good? How would he had succeeded, had he played for Colts for example and Luck for the Seahawks? I just don't believe Russell Wilson has yet proved he truly is his reputation worth, and he does owe a lot to the team.

Again, it's not hate towards Russell Wilson. He seems like a really great guy and does play very well. It's just really hard to truly call this guy elite or HoF on a personal playing level, imo.

PS: HoF is already a joke.

Good post. While I agree it's ridiculous to suggest he's a HOF candidate at this point, I do not think that he is the most overrated QB in the NFL. Yeah the Sea D is solid and Lynch is a major asset, but all Wilson does is win and make plays when it matters. Most Overrated would be someone like Tony Romo who has good stats, but does not perform as well under pressure(And has won 2 playoff games). Another factor is that the Sea receiving core is weak compared to NFL standards. Let's see how Wilson does over the next 5 years before declaring him HOF Material though.

Hold your horses with premature HoF declarations...It's his 3rd year in the league, so it's not the best time to talk about. He's not an elite regular season QB, but has a very good postseason record atm. Similar thing happened with Terry Bradshaw, excluding his awful career stats that he wasn't an elite regular season QB, but a very good postseason QB. He had the Steel Curtain, which is arguably the #1 defense of all time and won 4 rings. I'm just guessing, but something similar may happen to RW3 being in a team, that has arguably top 5 defense of all-time.
