Interesting comment. To me, this format is more skill based. First place winners are weighted appropriately and you can't limp your way into a final table to cash every day.

I am talking mainly about the fact that we will only have 3 tournies / day ... basically all europeans will play the 3pm one ... and the tourney prizes used to be around 2100 points, now only 1000 points meaning even less people at the poker tables

There were an avg of like 30 players in those tourneys, pretty consistently never filled all 200 seats. 30 x 5 and 50 x 3 still = 150 unique players. Looks like all that changed with this format is an extra 10 seats per tourney.

Yea less reward for cashing and not winning, but no buy-in for Pros so quit bitching you Euro baby?

yeah ... saving about 800 points in 4 months is not that much considering SBR is saving about 7000 points / day with this format

Yes the daily prizes going so far down (1000 points for an up to 50 player tourney compared to 2100 points for up to 40 player tourney) is troubling. Free is free so no cause to complain, but I have a feeling that this change may turn many off from participating - to me the dailies being such good value were what made these series so worth playing - not really the end of season championship considering how low any one player's odds of winning that are.

SBR is planning to make some changes to ring games that should stimulate more activity. Hopefully there will be an announcement soon, but don't quote me on this, you never know when deadlines will be hit on time but fingers crossed mate!

one more thing ... this setup clearly favors the us players because all non-us will have to spend at least 2000-2500 USD (even with the SBR 500 USD travel credit) ... so I will be surely playing only for the 2nd/3rd place

What are you talking about? First place makes less points than before while having to beat out more players?

I'll take anything free SBR has to offer and poker has always been (still is) a good deal on this site. I hope whoever gets that WSOP seat makes some nice cash

But I also know behind the scenes how much effort goes into sorting this out to offer you guys. Even a little contest like my tennis ones for Betpoints from a book sponsor is a massive ordeal. It's just frustrating when I hear what else is being offered at comparable forums - ie nothing - and yet every single time the poker crew has something to bitch about. For such a small segment of SBR y'all sure bitch a helluva lot.

And that's despite getting the most perks of any other little group on here. This whole place is one big poker fest when BTP isn't on so if you don't play poker or don't know how, you're shit outta luck.
