can you point to anywhere in the world where you brand of economics is/has been successful?
and i'd like to know what just how insane you are. you'd figure a "rational libertarian" would support a basic income as a poverty prevention program (you know... no inefficient bureaucracy, no means testing, not keeping people in a cycle of poverty which a lot of these programs do. etc. etc.) what's your position on that?Comment -

#601do you have an actual point? my actual point is that screaming "OMG the debt is retarded", because extreme austerity is moronic, and proven economics shows that liberals are correct on the economy.

Every single place my ideas have been tried, it has been wildly successful.
The funny thing is that all you liberals who claim to love socialism in practice are as much a capitalist as I am. You're not in a co-op or socialist contract with anybody because you know it doesn't work. The only thing the government adds to the equation is legal use of violence. Factories have not adopted the assembly line due to government mandate, they adopted them when they saw how much better they worked. What you should do if you think this is a great idea, is join a co-op or enter into a socialist contract with other like-minded people, and when people like me see how much better it works, we will drop capitalism and join you.Comment -

#605Yes, my point is that you're wrong, and trying to re-create something that never even existed. From 1945 to 1949, we cut spending by 71%. If you mean classically liberal, I agree, socialism is a colossal failure.
Every single place my ideas have been tried, it has been wildly successful.

LOL! authoritarian capitalism in singapore or what the chicago boys did to chile. even looking at our country: it's a disaster in states like kansas or wisconsin.
i've stated repeatedly: the only thing dumber than all-out socialism is all-out capitalism.Comment -

The average person in Chile or Singapore has seen a much greater standard of living increase in the past 40 than the average American.
You're talking about small tax cuts at the state level as being what I want. The fact is that you can deduct your state and local income tax from your federal income tax, so those cuts are even smaller when the federal takes its cut.
Capitalism is what happens when people are free. You're not arguing against capitalism, you're arguing against freedom itself.Comment -
#607as FDR said: necessitous men are not free men.
The president then looked ahead. Hoping to be heard on every front, he told Congress and the nation that, "It is our duty now to begin to lay the plans and determine the strategy for the winning of a lasting peace and the establishment of an American standard of living higher than ever before known." And in favor of that, he proposed the recognition and adoption of a Second Bill of Rights.
He said: "This Republic had its beginning, and grew to its present strength, under the protection of certain inalienable political rights... They were our rights to life and liberty. As our Nation has grown in size and stature, however -- as our industrial economy expanded -- these political rights proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness." But, he continued: "We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. ‘Necessitous men are not free men.'" And evoking Jefferson and Lincoln, Roosevelt contended that, "In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident," and, "We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all regardless of station, race, or creed." This Second Bill of Rights included, he proffered:
The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the Nation;
The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;
The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;
The right of every family to a decent home;
The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;
The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;
The right to a good education.

#608WTF is the matter with this guy? did he really just say "singapore freedom" in the same post?
singapore isn't freedom. they merge state capitalism and western corporatism.
i like how state capitalism "good" in singapore (where citizens have no freedom), but it's "bad" in norway where their citizens are among the freest in the world.
i think when he says "freedom" - he doesn't mean for citizens - he means for corporations to rape.Comment -
#609This is the worst apart about liberals like scumbag and dante. Their mind is so far off center but they don't see it themselves. They actually believe they are not biased. They actually believe, in their minds only, they have said something logical but fail each time. Even after they are shown how illogical their thoughts are their ego won't allow it to register.Comment -

Singapore isn't like that at all, you're lying. They have comparatively no corporate welfare.
Again, if socialism is so great, why aren't you in a co-op or in socialist contracts with other people? I already know the answer, doing that won't give you all the free stuff you want, but it would be nice if you would answer truthfully.Comment -

#616Josh is the kinda guy that likes to write his own history. His twisted view is right out of Orwell's 1984. He leaves out a few things, adds a few of his own. A lie here, some misinformation there. He lives in his own world, were he's always right. You can count about 5 to 10 lies in every post. He's a brainwashed delusional fuk.Comment -

#619If you are working for someone, wouldn't that be a co-op? The business you work for, is that a co-op? We all pay taxes isn't that a co-op? SS, medicare and now health care is a co-op? We have been living in a socialist/ co-op country ever since they started taking taxes from us and that is a very long time.
no, it wouldn't... Are you drinking this early? That is nonsense.
that is an interesting opinion. Not true at all.Comment -

you like wiki, here ya go
A cooperative ("coop") or co-operative ("co-op") is an autonomous association of people who voluntarily cooperate for their mutual social, economic, and cultural benefit.
The idea of socialism can't even be entertained until there are huge advancements in technology. There will always be the people who want to create but all the people who want to sit on their ass all day just might be able to without holding the rest of their fellow citizens back. We are nowhere near that day nor will we live to see it.Last edited by brooks85; 11-03-15, 09:39 AM.Comment -

#625Let me spit out the words you put in my mouth. I have nothing against capitalism, just your brand of capitalism for the poor & socialism for the rich. People like you live off the backs of the poor. You should be ashamed of yourself. Quit talking about freedom, you know nothing about it.
yet you're a liberal whose policies are known to cause more financial damage to the poor than anything else; welfare, obamacare, green energy's assault on clean burning coal and education. All designed to keep the poor where they are and giving dems votes.
posting endless youtube doesn't change the fact your hippy, peace for all and everyone makes $100k-a-year BS is unnatural and will never work.Comment -

Yes, FDR thank you for putting checks on the stock market! I'm sure NO ONE else would have thought of that one... especially after a huge crash... Nope, you'd have to be a genius to figure that one out.
and fact is the Fed was the issue, not the stock market. New Deal was terrible looking back now that we have hindsight. Its negatives FAR outweigh the short-term positives.Last edited by brooks85; 11-03-15, 10:44 AM.Comment -

More than half the country making under 30,000 a year isn't working either. But you guys that talk about freedom think it is. As long as its not you. Your untrue.
Well I don't want no Jesus freak to tell me what it's all about
No black magician telling me to get my soul out
Don't believe in violence, I don't even believe in peace
I've opened the door and my mind has been released
Well I don't want no preacher telling me about the god in the sky
No I don't want no one to tell me where I'm gonna go when I die
I wanna live my life, I don't want people telling me what to do
I just believe in myself, 'cause no one else is true
Every day just comes and goes
Life is one big overdose
People try to ruin me
And I can't see through their frustration
People hiding their real faces
each one running their rat races
behind each flower grows a weed
In their world of make-believe
So believe what I tell you, it's the only way to fight in the end
Just believe in yourself, you know you really shouldn't have to pretend
Don't let those empty people try and interfere with your mind
Just live your life and leave them all behind

your bs doesn't make sense compared to reality. There are literally MILLIONS of jobs unfilled right now that pay significantly more than 30k. Your education system you correctly said brainwashes kids has done a great job at making sure they do not get those jobs.
