Stars were clearly the better team for the whole game. Blues cannot match their speed. If not for Elliot playing out of his mind, this could've gotten out of hand early.

Stars are real fast, real skilled I agree. But Elliot isn't playing out of his mind. He's the best goalie in the playoffs. I realized this after the blackhawks struggled against him....the most skilled team of the last 2 decades bar none...

Blues will rebound. Stars had a big edge tonight and barely won by 1 on a late 3rd period goal. Stars were much fresher physically and mentally coming into tonight and had the home ice energy. Hitch knows how to get the troops fired up and they adjust game to game very well. Defense wins championships and Blues have the better D and netminder. Tarasenko, Schwartz, Steen, Backes et. al will start getting A looks on that shoddy D. Dallas won't be up heading into game 5.

It was an anticipated big letdown for the Blues coming off beating their nemesis Hawks, game 2 will be a much better gage of what the series will bring for the series and see what kind of adjustment both teams make moving forward.
