Like I said, you had to move the goal posts 20 miles to the left for the ball to split the uprights.

There's zero chance you started this thread thinking Lamar would be a multi-season starter with multiple playoff berths, multiple MVP's, and a Hall of Fame trajectory. Zero chance.

The playoff thing is immaterial. It's not like your opening statement was "Lamar is going to be a great quarterback guys, he's going to be elite at the position... but he won't win a Super Bowl."

This is so unbelievably funny. Bro, take a step back for a moment and realize how ridiculous you look right now

You made a prediction and it missed by a mile based on every reasonable metric in the sports universe -- not based on crazy bullshit. Next you're gonna be arguing Dan Marino wasn't good because he didn't win a super bowl

You were wrong, it happens. These silly attempts to justify it are way more embarrassing than the initial post. If you're being a clown on purpose, then by all means continue, but c'mon dude. Lamar's probably going to make the hall of fame. If you say a guy is going to do nothing, and he ends up a hall of famer or even in the discussion, it's a massive L for you. This isn't hard to grasp

Doesn't make me feel better, I'm just calling a spade a spade. Obviously you'll say any nonsense on behalf of your SBR reputation.

I didn't even lose money on the game, what a childish response. You're just salty because you realize I'm not one of the halfwits that are falling for your rhetoric. This thread is so silly, the idea that you said a player of Lamar's caliber has "done nothing" meanwhile the "done nothing" guy is on pace for a HOF induction. This is the height of ignorance.

Since you've already given up the fight and are devolving into phony assumptions, just take your ball and go home.

Sounds like Gaucho is ready to give you a high-five, so count your blessings.

Hey, blanko. Happy 2025, bruh. Hope all is good.

Very nice post. I always laughed at the writers who disparaged Marino. As if he didn't do all he could. He played much of his career without a top RB and without a great defense. The young Marino was truly amazing.

I've posted this before. If I could hop in a time-capsule and reverse one sporting result, it would be the 1985 AFC title game. Dolphins turned it over six times and were upset by the Patriots. Patriots had no shot versus the Bears. But the Dolphins may in fact have had the antidote with the quick receivers.

Have to say I'm enjoying life in 2025. Soaking it all in and wishing everyone the best.

Yeah, you called it lakerboy. When people think of a young player "doing nothing in the NFL" they think of them being one of the only QBs in history with multiple MVPs. That's definitely what you meant. You were right the whole time

Is that what we're supposed to say? It's just laughable

Happy 2025 Chucky! Glad to hear you're doing well

Yeah, man it is one of my biggest pet peeves when people don't give Marino the respect he deserves. In his prime he was spectacular. The arm he had was unreal. There's a reason most QBs that know NFL history list him as one of the best if not the best. In a slightly different world he would have won multiple Super Bowls, it just wasn't right place right time

Marino was a gunslinger and he was great but he didn't want a running game. He wanted to be the guy to throw the ball and win it his way. My favorite play was that fake against the Jets. His last play off game vs the Jags was pretty sad though.

                        Thank You, blanko. Full respect.

Remember Marino's quick release? He didn't take many sacks. He blew up the record books before the modern age of passing.

As a student of the game, I'll bring up one other Dolphin name. Dwight Stephenson. Have to say that Dwight helped out Marino so much. A great center, he was light and athletic. I always thought that Dwight helped Marino stay calm. Less threat up the gut, Dwight was a great player. Hall of Famer player, but he might have even surpassed Webster as best ever if an injury didn't curtail the length of his career.

I won't criticize Lamar. He led the drive in the snow. His TE dropped an easy pass...and I mean EASY (by NFL standards).
maybe don't have 2 dumb turnovers in the first half? sets you up to lose a playoff game if someone else has a turnover.

                              Why?

Lamar is great at his position - but his track record of a QB not winning the big game is a HOF dealbreaker, at least in my eyes. The good news is that one big postseason can undo that rap - but it never seems to happen, his team always falls short. Right now he’s throwing his trusty TE under the bus, which is a bad look on top of everything else.

The absolute beauty of this thread is that it will last the duration of Lamar’s career. So my prediction is that at some point in this thread’s existence the prospect of Jayden Daniels making the HOF will shine brigher that of Lamar Jackson’s. Not only for quality quarterback play but for lifting his team against the best competition.
