Good. One of the dumbest rules in sports goes away.

also interesting they are phasing out Oakland in revenue sharing

All of this means nothing if CB Bucknor is still allowed to umpire

MLB needs massive changes next 5 years to save game

Basically now just looks like the Latin Leauges

Some may argue the Cubs won because of that. Getting away from home, putting the pressure back on Cleveland. 3 of 4 Cubs wins in World Series happened in Cleveland. So it really may have been better for them!!

Didn't they originally change the rule so the managers in the all star game took it seriously? Didn't it end in a tie or some shit and they ran out of pitchers?

Yes exactly, rule was changed year immediately after the tie. But rule change did not have its desired effect as we have not seen teams going all out to win All-Star Games.

need hold umpires accountable for their terrible strike zones, some of these guys are so old school won't change with the times only call one side of the plate or only high or only low strikes, need more consistent umpires

Means nothing unless you have a great dh. Better team usually wins.

The 15 day DL is also no more

Also a major new part of the new CBA: the minimum (non-concussion) disabled list stint is now 10 games instead of 15.

All Star games are a thing of the past. Ratings were all down for the NBA, MLB, and NFL. MLB used to be something special when the American League and National League only competed there and in the World Series. With as much bitching that goes on about players needing rest, they would be better suited to just take a one week break, and just get rid of the games all together.

I must be one of the only ones who enjoyed that whoever wins the all star game gets home field. The last few all star games have been great to watch because of it.
