    how is the number 1 not a positive integer? and how does it's infinite limit not approach 1????????

    please explain so I can go back and yell at all my teachers for lying to me over the years.

          Alright, just because I feel sorry for you. Suppose I think your income depends upon only two things: how much education you have and how old you are. Then I can claim [assuming a linear relationship] that your:

          Income = a*(Education) + b*(Age)

          Well, how big is 'a' and how big is 'b'? Who knows. In my previous post I just suggested 'a' is equal to 1, which of course means a*(Education) = (Education).

            ok perfect....that's what I was assuming you meant.

            So A won't always be 1, but when it is the number multiplied by a will remain the same...correct?

            I thought you were making a blanket statement that X*1 does not equal X

            But what you were saying is X*a does not equal X when a is not 1
