Toronto Maple Leafs won Stanley Cup on this day in history 1951

Beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 games

The WHL folded in 1926, and its assets were bought by the NHL. This left the NHL as the only league left competing for the Cup.

Since that date, Toronto won the Cup 4-more times, in 1962, 1963, 1964, and 1967 - impressive run...but have NOT won the Cup since then!

Not sure but last year they broke the record for most overtime games in the playoffs. There were 8 overtime games in the second round last year.
