#177well I had to search for the guy after that debacle. Interesting bio....
Morris Berg (March 2, 1902 – May 29, 1972) was an American catcher and coach in Major League Baseball, who later served as a spy for the Office of Strategic Services during World War II. Although he played 15 seasons in the major leagues, almost entirely for four American League teams, Berg was never more than an average player, usually used as a backup catcher, and was better known for being "the brainiest guy in baseball" than for anything he accomplished in the game. Casey Stengel once described Berg as "the strangest man ever to play baseball".
A graduate of Princeton University and Columbia Law School, Berg spoke several languages and regularly read 10 newspapers a day. His reputation was fueled by his successful appearances as a contestant on the radio quiz show Information, Please, in which he answered questions about the etymology of words and names from Greek and Latin, historical events in Europe and the Far East, and ongoing international conferences.
As a spy working for the government of the United States, Berg traveled to Yugoslavia to gather intelligence on resistance groups the U.S. government was considering supporting. He was then sent on a mission to Italy, where he interviewed various physicists concerning the Nazi German nuclear program. After the war, Berg was occasionally employed by the OSS's successor, the Central Intelligence Agency, but, by the mid-1950s, was unemployed. He spent the last two decades of his life without work, living with various siblings.Comment -

#181AHHHHH Yay ay!!!
Third question - Soccer question about the Copa Libertadores
I was deep in contemplation about the guess. Was trying to click on the team "Independiente" just as time was expiring.
They were the correct answer! But my time expired it said. No evil clown shown, either. Just time expired.
Now I WANT to be shown the dam evil clowns for that one! Unreal on both levels!Comment -

#197A$$holes today, both of youse
Gave me false hope
Tried question 3 today after seeing you two post trivia jackpots. Woulda never tried that based on another Bad Moon Rising in my horoscope. Had real easy questions 1 & 2. Scrambled my brain when they asked "who threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the 1976 World Series?" There were a couple possible people who fit the year timeframe....I think....guessed wrong between the two and now I am mad. Real mad.
I'm gonna raise a fuss
I'm gonna raise a holler
About workin' all summer
Just-a trying to earn a dollar
Sometimes I wonder
What I'm-a gonna do
But there ain't no cure

#204Didn't learn my lesson to take the 60 points today. Rarely need to guess on Questions 1 and 2, but #3 is almost always a wild guess....even if I can narrow it down to two choices the 20-seconds timer is expiring, just have to click something....and get the actual SBR Clown Shown.Comment -

#209Can I get an official re-count for fukks sake?
Question 3 - Philadelphia Eagles football player Paul Grasmanis retired after how many years?
Now, I thought I knew this one, and would be quite embarrassed if I did not. Answered 9 years.
Clown showed up and said the correct answer should be 10 years.
Something feels a little off here. When do we begin counting? I demand a re-count!
PS - Its not that crucial to me, but always wanted to say that. So again, I demand a re-count!!!Comment
