Damn Jibby! Very impressive list but shame on you pal! You left out several other iconic comedies of the 80's! Revenge of the Nerds (1984), Weekend at Bernie's (1989), Caddyshack (1980), Spaceballs (1987), and Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)!
Honorable Mention: Can't buy me love (1987)Comment -
#389Old Bill was certainly off on the 80's movie list. He's old cut him some slack. LOL.
I got Star wars wrong but all others I mentioned were in the 80's.Comment -

#391Another underrated Clint Eastwood movie from the 80's was Pale Rider (1985)! Basically a spinoff from his Western classic "High Plains Drifter" (1973) where he basically saves a town of cowards from a greedy land developer and his goonish henchmen..."There's nothing like a nice piece of hickory!"...one of the most iconic movie lines from that era!

#397another iconic photo from the 80's! on the movie set of "Conan the Destroyer" (1984)...Andre, Arnold, and Wilt!...Arnold was 6'2 and weighed 250lbs. of solid muscle mass. look at how both Andre and Wilt literally dwarf him!...even in Schwarzenegger's own words on his twitter account..."#tbt to one of the rare moments I felt completely puny, with Wilt Chamberlain and Andre the Giant. I absolutely loved the HBO documentary on Andre this week and it was an honor to be part of it. He was bigger than life."

#399^ The OG Matrix was solid but that movie was released in the 90's..
The comedy PORKY'S and REVENGE of the NERDS were decent back in the 80's.

#401Another FANTASTIC Stephen King flick is The Dead Zone from 1983. Greg Stillson(Martin Sheen) sort of reminds me of someone, but I can't quite think of who??
I think I first saw this movie when I was around 13 or so. I loved it. I watched it again a couple of years ago and I liked it even more as an adult. I HIGHLY recommend this movie!Comment -

I thought 'The Maltese Falcon' was better.
A who's who of Hall of Fame actors.
You've got your Bogart, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre.
Not to mention the stunning Mary Astor.
I heard a rumor that Old Bill was pegging Mary Astor on the side.
Get in here Billy Boy could you please verify this?

#413Sosa and McGwire, what a classic 80s battle. Can’t believe no one mentioned that until now. Nothing defined baseball in the 80s more than the classic Sosa/McGwire home run battle of 1998Comment -
-
#415Yes Mark McGwire was alive in the 80s. You got me there. I’m sure when lakerboy started an 80s thread he was counting the minutes before someone posted a pic of Sosa and McGwire from 1998. Thank god you came along with that oneComment -

#419This one is for texhooper(his avatar that is). When I was a teen, I worked at a video store that wasn't particularly busy. So, I spent most of my time watching 80's movies when working alone, which was most of the time. I remember putting in the movie below once and the Manager made some wise crack about how terrible it was. Fukk her! And Rotten Tomatoes! I like this movie! It's from 1989... so it makes the cut.
I just stumbled across this. I definitely agree!
