Best comedy movies were in the 80's by far!

Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Airplane, A Christmas Story, Trading Places, Back to the Future, Back to School, Ferris Bueller's day off, Coming to America, Major League, Three O'clock High, Over board, Let it ride, etc..

I could go on and on.. They don't make comedies anymore like they use too!

Damn Jibby! Very impressive list but shame on you pal! You left out several other iconic comedies of the 80's! Revenge of the Nerds, Weekend at Bernie's, Caddyshack, Spaceballs, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High!

Honorable Mention: Can't buy me love

yeah I know...hundreds of great comedy, action, horror, adventure, etc! films from the 80's...just about every genre you can think of! not to mention Arcade games, Water, amusement, and theme parks, etc! shit I could go on and on!...there will never be another decade like the 80's and I think those of us who were fortunate enough to grow up in that era can't even begin to imagine just how lucky we were to experience it.

Three O'Clock High was an underrated classic, it's not one a lot of people know about.

Many sport and gambling comedies back then. Major League and Let it Ride are really hard to beat!

Can't forget about the 80's Steven Seagal movies either! Classics.

Robocop, Pedator with Arnold, Judge Dredd, Terminator were all decent as well.

Big Trouble in Little China definitely an underrated cult classic! It always starts out small...LOL! I had a big time crush on that hot Asian chick with those green emerald eyes! (Suzee Pai)...I always wondered if they were real or contacts....damn, I just read up on her! She was penthouse pet of the month in January 1981! I'm going to have to find some nudes. I bet she had a thick hairy bush!...but in all seriousness, we also had Indiana Jones, Star Wars series (the original big 3 with Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi), Tales from the Crypt (greatest horror TV series ever) and two other great movies were The Natural (my favorite baseball movie of all-time) and Willow!

It's funny because most movie remakes and sequels today are made from 80's movie classics.

Horror movies were classics, Holloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc..

I'll tell you another underrated movie was "Silent Rage" with Chuck Norris. That movie fell under the radar for sure. First real Zombie movie classic! Chucky was just beating his ass all movie long. Lol.

terror in the aisles (1984) was a freakin' classic horror documentary! they should do a remake and updated version of it!

American Werewolf in London (1981)...the greatest werewolf transformation in cinematic history!

Great list here. I noticed you named 4 John Hughes flicks. Here's 3 more classics from Hughes: The Breakfast Club, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, AND Uncle Buck.

Here's another one of my all time favorites.

The 80's was jam packed with all-time classic films, it was just incredible. You even had Karate Kid in 84.
