#290I think I'm done trying to contribute intelligent/informed commentary to these sbr threads.
Let's see if this place turns into a complete dump without me around to lend some credibility & legitimacy to this place.

#291Not sure if that axiom plays for MMA betting. MMA seems like a much better sport to cap than the others, if I'm laying money, I've got a side picked already.
Anyways, when Vegas is talking about getting buried and taking losses if Conor wins, that isn't them talking about the number of bets they will lose. That is money wagered. They aren't talking about losing 80% of tickets, they are talking about losing scratch. Think you are reading that all wrong.

#292Anyone at the fight ? I’m here top level. Went broke on tickets...Comment -
#293C'mon now, is that really a concern regardless? Absolutely no shot at all to go distance. Besides, if it did, similar argument could be made for Khabib not having a shot at winning decision because whatever money Vegas stands to lose, UFC stands to make 100x that in promo off a Conor win.
Books are taking a position here cause there is huge money on Connor and this joke of a line is going the other way. That tells me that in no fuking way, if this goes to a decision, Conor has a prayer to win. He can beat Khabib from pillar to post for five rounds and they won't give him the win so if u are betting Conor u better hope he gets it done before five.Comment -
#294Yup. End of the day, it is Vegas, after all. They understand the fight game and have staked out the prime position they really want. Just like that Conor/Mayweather fight for schmucks. Made a killing, and all things being equal, expect to make another one. After all, they can just as easily be laying off the action, which they ain't. Books are gamblers too, when the feel they are on the money side of it. So why drop Khabib down to -120 when they know damn well -150, -160 are already penetrating gifts. Makes sense.

#295One last post for cappers to consider. Just saw that "chip on his shoulder" Tony Ferguson interview and that sht was a real eye opener. Not sure how that mindset came about, but that interview told me a lot about his frame of mind. That dude's got that "fk it" attitude where he ain't trying to hear anything anybody is trying to tell him. That's cool and all, but got me thinking that is also that attitude he may have taken with him into therapy. How sure are we that he didn't rush back too fast from that injury? All show and no go, maybe. That's the kind of attitude that'll make a mofo think he's ready, just to show everyone else something. But it isn't the kind that's too responsive to contrarian doctors' advice from therapists. I'm thinking there's a good chance he may have rushed it and pettis is a live dog today. Def worth a flyer at +300.Comment -

I don't know man? El Cucuy has Nate Diaz stamina and walks around at 185. He's too big and nasty for Pettis. I think he'd have a good shot vs Conor or Khabib too. Esp against Connor because of stamina and size/reach.Comment -

After Ferguson was injured, Anthony Pettis told the UFC they would have to pay him $1 million to fight Khabib for the title. That might have upset the UFC.
The UFC used to protect Anthony Pettis by giving him easier fights against Jim Miller, Michael Chiesa, etc.
Now the UFC might be throwing Pettis to the wolves by giving him the first fight against top competition he has fought in a long time.
One of the few female american asian MMA fighters.
There are plenty from korea, japan, asia, etc.Comment -
