You know Khabib will ground McIrish and pound on him but the question is can McGregor make the fight last and keep it standing at times long enough to land something big and knock out Khabib? I think it's very possible.. I've seen Khabib slow down a bit late in fights..

      UFC 229 - Lightweight 5 rounds - T-Mobile Arena - Las Vegas, Nevada - PPV
      Sat 10/6 1001 Conor McGregor +165
      11:59PM 1002 Khabib Nurmagomedov -190

I still think Khabib is probably the right call as McGregor is still primarily a stand up fighter.. Wrestlers rule.. I'd still take a poke at the McGregor KO prop as 5 rounds is a very long fight.. Khabib might begin to gas with every take down attempt..

Khabib by Sub hedged with McGregor by KO will probably be how I'm playing it if this fight ever goes down..

      Current limited props up now..

Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov - Lightweight 5 rounds - UFC 229
      Sat 10/6 1003 McGregor / Nurmagomedov goes 5 rd dist +250
      11:59PM 1004 Fight won’t go 5 round distance -350

The longer the fight goes the better it is for khabib since he doesn't slow down and has amazing cardio.

Maybe? Khabib has only had one five round fight in his entire MMA career.. That was against AL IQUINTA and it did go the distance.. I do remember him gassing a bit at the end in that fight.. Correct me if I'm wrong?

McGregor went 5 rounds with Nick Diaz but that was basically a boxing match.. Maybe you're right we'll see Dem? Cardio is king in 5 round fights that's all I know..

That's exactly right . Mcchicken has his best chance to KO khabib 1-2 rds though. Khabib leaves his face completely exposed all the time. I'm not betting on this fight but rooting for Mcchicken.

Wrestlers have been dominating the UFC this year. Khabib should continue this trend.

I don't like when they match up a pure wrestler and grappler against a pure striker and boxer... Well if you are betting on it I guess it's fun to watch and win money in that light..

It usually plays out the wrestler/grappler takes down the stand up striker.. Lays and Prays for the duration of the fight or you get the sub or pound out on the ground.. Those fights typically can be boring as hell..

When you match a striker against striker or a grappler against grappler then it's more interesting because then you're playing to the fighters strengths in that same department..

My take anyway on stylistic match ups like this...

I remember when McGregor fought Chad Mendes... Chad put McIrish on his back pretty easily.. He gassed and McGregor finally clipped his chin... Khabib is at another level then Chad IMO...

This is what you will see happen...

That GIF could highlight one reason why the jab isn't utilized more in MMA.

You can see that Conor tries to get his lead hand somewhere on Chad's face to push Chad's head away and deny the takedown. Conor isn't very successful with this, which allows Chad to get deep penetration and eventually the fight to the floor. If Conor threw a jab and Chad timed it, it could have made Chad's takedown easier, with Conor's lead hand extended away from his body.

Khabib had trouble with Al Iaquinta who could have around the same level of wrestling as Eddie Alvarez. Conor managed to defend Eddie's takedowns, which could mean Conor is in the game.

Khabib by a smesh! He carried Iaquinta in rounds 3, 4 and first half of 5 because he wanted to see how he went 5 rounds. His corner gave him hell for it and I bet his father put a boot or two up his ass when he got back to Dagestan. Abdulmanap is a true ball buster! Khabib is an outlier. He has done nothing but fight and train since he was a kid. Nobody can stop his ground n pound. REALLY bad matchup for McGregor. Conor is a counter puncher, he waits for the overreaching punch and counters with the left. It finished Aldo. Painted Diaz and Alvarez. Khabib is measured with his punches and uses them to set up the takedown. If you look at the faces of Johnson, Barbosa and Iaquinta before coming out for round 2 they were done... completely done! They had the 'I cant handle this guy" look on their faces.
Conor has to hit Khabib with the perfect punch coming in at the right spot. All Khabib has to do is get hold of Conor. Khabib is a different animal. He isnt fazed by head games, hes all biz. Do I have a mancrush on Khabib? Dr. Phil might think so. I think Khabib at -190 is the bargain of the century. Conor has a punchers chance....but only in round 1. As soon as Khabib takes him down.. its over, maybe not right then, but Conors strength will be gone and it will get real ugly. I suggest Conors mom take the night off.

Better be a good stiff jab, McGregor was clearly worried about the take downs as you could see it in that gif, looking down, lower stance, it nullified his normal fluid striking too.. He couldn't stand up straight and use his normal style until late when Chad gassed..

McIrish will be doing the same with Khabib, his striking will look strained for sure when all he is thinking about is defending the take downs.. Won't matter Khabib is going to close the distance and put McNuggets on his back and fast...

I'm starting to lean with the Khabib ITD prop when it comes out for better odds..

I wonder which way the odds will go come fight time? I could see the McGregor nuthuggers and your average Joe gambler betting on him because of his name and all the hype he'll probably get leading up... You know McMouth will talk up a shiit storm in all the interviews also..

McBigmouth has been out the Octagon for a long time now.. Khabib has been the more active fighter.. Hungrier fighter for sure..

Also have to see the fight a guy who made 100 million has in him. Is the desire their to get thrown around and fight out of it/put the work in everyday to be fully prepared. Wealth has ruined more than is fair share of fighters

Conor had a severe injury going into that fight with Chad Mendes.

Don't judge Conor's wrestling and takedowns too much from that fight. Another person probably would have pulled out.

could see either winning, stylistically favors khabib greatly, but weve seen mcgregor pull off magic before

Conor got taking down by Mendes cause Mendes has really good hands. Conor was beaten on the ground by Nate because Nate hurt him. This isn’t DC who can hurt you with his hands and than rape you. this Russian is in for a whole lot of hurt once he realizes his bum rushing style is going to get picked apart. Conor is no idiot. Conor has 21 wins. 18 wins via KO/TKO.

So you are saying mcgregor has better t takedown defense than anyone kabobs has faced? Having is better at takedowns than Mendes in my opinion and he has shown it plenty of times with effortless takedowns. Having is no.idiot either or else he wouldn't win so many fights. Betting kabobs is free money. Connor won't knock him out. It will be a grappling and wrestling battle. Mcgregor will gas with the constant pressure of kabobs.

This is what you will see happen...

                                                              comical post....
