Are gambling profits taxed in Mexico?
I know different countries have different laws. For example, in the U.S. gambling profits are taxed but in the UK they are not. What about Mexico? Do Mexican citizens have to pay tax on gambling profits? What about non-citizen residents of Mexico?

    Thanks in advance.

Good luck getting Mexican citizenship. I know a few poker friends who made the move down south after Black Friday and they are still stuck in red tape trying. We’re talking 7 years later and still no bueno.

Do Mexicans in Mexico pay taxes period should be the question? Everyone working are paid in cash (Pesos) under the table I thought.

I'm not interested in obtaining MEX citizenship ... possibly residency down the road. Also it matters how MEX banks react to large deposits or withdraws coming into and out of the account.

Well if you’re not a citizen you obviously don’t worry about the Mexican tax code. Ex pats pay their country of citizenship’s taxes no matter where they live in the world. Living in Mexico and still paying Uncle Sam sounds like a lose lose proposition.

Is there legal sportsbetting in Mexico? If so, they might follow other Latin countries and tax you -115 on a -110 line and paying taxes after withdrawing a certain amount.

i lived in the Czech Republic for many years as a resident and had to pay Czech income tax. i'm not interested in running afoul of the law in a foreign country and this is why i'm seeking info on how the tax code works in MEX as a legal resident. in the CZE i never went over $80k during a year so i never owed tax to the U.S. (although obv i had to file each year).
