#2Absolutely NOT. No way.Comment -
#3No, he was a tough bastard who showed up for all the games, but in the end, he didn't have enough stats, or a ring to get him in.Comment -
#4Absolutely not.
Mediocre player who had one great season and one good season.
He may get sympathy votes, but he doesn't belong in the HOF.
If his type of player played any position but QB, he wouldn't even get mentioned.
But somehow every decent QB (Bledsoe, Testaverde, McNair) gets consideration.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#5Not even close, nope. The Hall of Fame is there for the best of the best, don't see how anyone could argue that McNair is that caliber.Originally posted by Dark HorseIf with religion you mean belief system, your belief system is your religion. Again, it matters not what it is. You believe in it, you are loyal to it, would defend it, and yet have no proof of it, other than that, at one point or another, you chose to believe in it. #6McNair may be like Bledsoe...being where he is the line...
If you are better than him or Bledsoe, you get in. Otherwise, you don't...
Both were physically gifted and were amazing...but were prob best suited for the Hall of Very Good
But I think both will someday be enshrined, as a lot of Very Good guys end up making it.
McNair was a fukkin gamer tho...what a warrior on the field....well-respected. Let his peers decide...

#7i guarantee you all he'll make it in...Comment -
#8No
He just does not have the success in big wins
He has the longevity and some very good stats but he is a notch underComment -
#9If he hadn't been killed this wouldn't even be a discussion. No way is that man a Hall of Famer. That would be a disgrace to the Hall of Fame.
I'm not saying anything personal about him - I'm just focusing on what he did on the field. He had a mediocre career with a few highlights...that's it.Comment -
#10This incident certainly wouldn't increase his chance of getting in, if anyone was on the fence about him in the first place. It's not like he died like Sean Taylor did, protecting his loved ones against uninvited burglars, he died because he cheated on his wife and got mixed up with a 20 year old (stripper?) and God knows what else. He certainly didn't deserve to die but had he honored his vows he probably wouldn't have been exposed to the situation that ultimately led to his demise.Comment -

He was a lil better than mediocre. Come on now... He led his team to inches from a SuperBowl and took a Ravens team to 13-3 near the end of his career.
Maybe not Hall of Fame, but still Very Good nonetheless. He was well-respect for being a fukkin gamer and a warrior.
But you do make a good point. Had he lived, this may not be much of an issue. He would've still gained support but probably would've fell short.
But Air McNair was fukkin awesome tho...

#14He was a pretty damn good QB, but not HOF material. He doesn't have great numbers, and doesn't have a Super Bowl.Comment -

I don't feel bad for him, but many do and it will increase his chances.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

Yeah, pretty damn good sums it up... Like I said, guys like McNair and Bledsoe may be the line. Both were physically gifted and were amazing at times, but just not quite HOFers.
However, I REALLY appreciated what he brought to the game and would def want him on my team.
Would be interesting to see Peter King weigh in on the McNair HOF debate. He usually has some sort of unique insight/insider info that will clue us in as to how this would go....

#17I really don't even know how this guy is even in the discussion for Hall of Fame, maybe to pay him respects on a solid NFL career, but looking at his numbers you would have to let in half of the current QB's playing if you let McNair in, and countless others.Comment -

Btw...Thanks for my 150 freeplayComment -
#19It's not the Hall of the Very Good...It's the Hall of Fame.
He had a very good NFL career, but he's not Hall worthy...Comment -
#20He wasnt HOF material before this, and hes not HOF material now.Comment -
#21Not a hall of famer. I also didn't think Warren Moon was either. I would put McNair in before Bledsoe or Moon though.Comment -
#22Moon had hella stats he threw just under 50,000 in the NFL and in the CFL he had 21,000(i know it doesnt count) but if he had played in the NFL those 5 seasons he was in the CFL he would probably be #1 in the NFL.Comment -
#23and no McNair isnt hall worthy but he was a tough sob.Comment -
-
#25Name me ONE game in which Moon was the difference in his team winning and losing in the playoffs. I didn't think so. He was a regular season superstar, and a playoff dud.Comment
