I post picks when I feel really comfortable that I have an edge. My record on posted picks is decent. I do it because I know it’ll be a +EV play and I like passing along profit. Lots of guys do it because they don’t really bet, and that notoriety is their “action.”
I will first promise I will never go tout and I’ve had the chance. Second, I like what SBR is doing with videos. I like to talk sports betting that’s why I do it. Probably right though Sammy no value in doing it.
engaging discussion on a play to see another angle someone else may have..preferrably to the contrary so I can see if I missed something.
^^^exactly, agree.... although we have some meaningful discussion, it doesn't happen enough around these parts
My main reason for posting plays is a way to track my progress towards improvement. By putting it here for anyone to see, it feels like I get out of my own head a little bit... even though I get very few comments on my threads, it makes me feel like people are watching, and I find for that reason I play more responsibly than I might be capable of going tilt on my own if nobody knows. Might sound weak-minded, but it has helped me, been more moderate with my plays since I've been a posting member at SBR.

Posting picks and tracking results is a pain in arse because my OCD requires precise results in my account and on the board. Sometimes that is a challenge to get wager in the books and post accurate also. What bothers me is poster saying they got a number but that number is not widely available to others.
I do it for the same reason I tell my friends its fun! I also plan on one day writing a book about the real way sports bettors play and why it does not work and the forum helps a ton with my notes on that. I literally make lists of funny things people say here and methods, streaks ats last 10 all that funny shit people use to choose a bet
As much as I enjoy betting on sports, I suck at it. No reason to post plays if tossing a coin could produce the same if not better results than my picks. I've transitioned from sports nerd to political nerd over the past few years though, and I've been making pretty decent coin betting on politics.
Unfortunately, the political forum is about 90% a lover's quarrel between vitty and brooks. Those guys could probably make a killing betting on politics if they weren't so busy shitting on each other- along with most other posters in the political forum. I try to post good bets/info in there from time to time but it doesn't seem like guys are that interested in making any there. The most value I get from the political forum is seeing how each side is reacting to different issues/current events. That helps me get a better read on the political atmosphere which gives me better insight when I'm betting on different markets. I'm a small time fish in the Predictit world, but I know I'd be making a lot more if guys were posting up their political analyses and bets. Only been betting on this stuff for 3 years, but I'm doing a lot better there than I ever did betting on sports:
we post picks or in general becuase we are losers in the real world and wanna spend hours on day on a forum while bitching and complaining watching are plays. idk one guy on here that isnt a loser lmao and i aint talking about plays.
