Best TE in NFL history. Only TE defensive coordinators actually had to gameplan for. Gonzalez, Sharpe, Gates all HoF but they were never the most dominant offensive player in league at any point in their careers.

Like others have said, it wouldn’t shock me if he returned to NE by week 10 for another SB run with Brady.

Whatever he decides to do, his future is bright. He isn’t a big dumb oaf like he acts in media. Smart guy who plays it up.

He's a puss to me. Jason Witten is coming back next season at 37. Antonio Gates just played his age 38 season. And this guy retires before he's even 30.

He's lucky Aaron Hernandez got popped for murder. Otherwise, Gronk would have shared time and never been thought of as that good. Gronk owes Brady everything, just like that entire organization does

the real story is that the team didn't want to pay that 9m on his final year. wanted to slash him to 2m plus incentives or cut him. so he retired instead. wanted that 10 year annuity pension that you get in addition to regular pension for 10 years of service. look it up.

he's probably retiring because the pats didn't want to pay his salary since he is declining and he was going to be traded or released

Well I know these paid athletes have huge homes, fancy cars, mortgage payments to pay, spending habits to keep up, and more bills to pay, etc.. When the money stops coming in and only goes out, the financial crunch then happens over time.. That why I said give it 3 years..

Gronk will be fine for now.. Give it a few years with no BIG NFL income, we'll see what happens with Gronk down the road?

Gronk was very tough, he was a gamer for sure.. You guys are smoking stuff if you're hating on Gronks play.. Dude made big catches in big games.. Usually got open and was double teamed alot too. He was fearless going down the middle..

I'm not Pats fan either, that dude could run and play with the best of them.. Just like Jason Witten could play.. Both could run solid routs and get open with their big bodies.. Great hands to catch the ball, both of them..
