Indiana Senate Bill 552 just made it out of the Ways and Means Committe in the House yesterday with amendments and nows goes to the House Floor tomorrow. The bill has already passed the Indiana Senate without the House amendments.
House amendments include: No mobile betting. Bets have to be placed in the Indiana Casinos. Moved back start date from July 1st this year to September 1st to allow sports wagering. Reduced license fee for operators of the sportsbooks from 100K to 10K and require 3% of the revenue go to Gambling addiction programs.
If the House votes to pass this bill then it goes back to the Senate with the changes for their acceptance. All this has to be done by the end of April as it is a state law that the Indiana Legislative session can't go beyond April 29th.
Two Gary, Indiana casino location changes and a new casino in Terre Haute are also part of this legislation so outcome is unclear. I thought those in Indiana or nearby might like an update. I hope they get this done and maybe I won't have to drive as far to get football wagers in this Fall.
