KD tried to look melancholy as he greeted the players heading back to the locker room but deep down inside he was thinking "PHUKK U MEDIA AND FANS OUT THERE WHO THOUGHT THIS TEAM DIDNT NEED ME. IN YOUR FACE!!!! "

The story of these playoffs is how well the Warriors have played without Durant -this is undeniable!!! Imagine if they had a decent SF, like H.Barnes, that could give Iguodala a rest.

The injury to Thompson was the straw that broke the camel's back -not saying they would have won the series but that put a lot of stress on an already depleted lineup. Cousins has played poorly off the injury and Looney is hurting too.

But maybe Durant is excited to see them lose, he is after all a child.

There is no doubt that with all of that talk that was going on during that playoff run, about how the Warriors were just as good without Durant, that KD is thinking "What do you Mother Fu*kers* think now?!".

KD will stay if GSW loses

Only place he can have shots at titles relatively easy

I think he's gone regardless, I think he's gonna sign a max somewhere else and if they lose he will just use that as "see I really was crucial" and if they win it doesn't hurt his outcome

Durant is a better player than Curry but Curry is more important to the team's success than Durant.

This has proven to be true even last year and the year before.

Warriors' record with Curry and without Durant: 35-7

Warriors' record with Durant and without Curry: 28-18

all that matters is the GS record without Durant in the NBA finals and that is 1-3

There were a lot more injuries this year than just Durant. If you put kd in this year and removed curry with all the other injuries still the same and they could very well have lost to Houston.

Yeah no excuses they've just been flat out dominated by a better team, have to give credit to the Raptors. I've said all along that the Warriors this year aren't as dominant as years' past, that's with Durant or without. Something's off, the team chemistry, depth, injuries, probably just a combination of all three with maybe a little bit of complacency too having won so much over the last 5 years.

There you go, injuries. Can't say they lack depth without the injuries -they looked like the best team ever assembled when Cousins first got back from injury. They had tremendous depth at every position, with every kind of piece a coach could ask for on a title contender. Now relying on guys that belong in the G-League (Cook, McKinnie).

Ridiculously stupid thread this. THey lose game 3 while playing without Thompson and the OP comes up with they miss Durant! They looked good for a half in game 4 but then a re-aggravation for Thompson and his team melts as Curry faces a box & 1. Last year I was asking why is it always the poor teams catching the injuries to spoil the playoffs... well good to see the shoe on the other foot for once. Never seen so many quality players on one team injured.

They would be offering him a max contract anyway, so not really.
